Hear Your Audio, Not Your Hardware

Drawmer's MC series of monitor controllers gets a tabletob-friendly makeover and some vital new features in the MC3.1. Upgrades include cue mix support, five inputs with digital AES / S/PDIF, external talkback, and an upgraded Mix Check section with three Band Solo switches and L-R reverse. As the name implies, the Drawmer MC3.1 has outputs for three sets of stereo speakers plus a dedicated subwoofer out. You can quickly mix and match all your speakers, with or without the sub, via the front panel. Whatever environment you work in, the Drawmer MC3.1's pure signal path and full feature set are guaranteed to have you on your way to better, faster mixes.

Drawmer MC3.1 Active Monitor Controller at a Glance:
  • Drawmer's best monitor controller yet
  • New tabletop design is easier to get your hands on
  • Calibrated playback level returns your ears to Magnetic North
  • The latest in Drawmer's revered monitoring accuracy
Drawmer's best monitor controller yet

Whatever's ailing your audio mixes, Drawmer's MC3.1 has the cure. It's active circuitry is built transparent so that you hear your music, not your hardware. Audition up to five sources on any or all of your three sets of speakers and sub. Then solo the lows, mids, or highs of your mix and check for phase issues in the Mix Check section. Sweetwater knows audio purists will appreciate the Drawmer MC3.1's relay-based switching system, which defaults to bypassed when switches are out of the loop.

New tabletop design is easier to get your hands on

Drawmer made its newest MC-series controller even easier to get your hands on. Sweetwater has been following the MC3.1 since Musikmesse, and we have to say, we think the wedge design is a big improvement. The front panel is built like a tank, with great-feeling knobs and switches that are built for a lifetime. Color-coded LEDs guide you through the MC3.1's three main sections, which makes it easy to navigate in the dark.

Calibrated playback level returns your ears to Magnetic North

You can calibrate the Drawmer MC3.1's Master Volume to play back material at a set level with the touch of a switch. Find the sweet spot in your room, calibrate the preset, then bring your ears back to harbor whenever you feel your mixes start to drift. Calibration is controlled via a set screw below the panel so you won't accidentally bump it unless you're really trying.

The latest in Drawmer's revered monitoring accuracy

The Drawmer MC3.1 excels in its unerring ability to faithfully reproduce what you've recorded. Monitoring accuracy may seem like a no-brainer for the professional, but it's surprising how many recordings are made using compromised monitoring setups. And the results usually aren't pretty. Trust us, you'll make better-sounding recordings with the Drawmer MC3.1.

Drawmer MC3.1 Active Monitor Controller Features:
  • Drawmer's most comprehensive mix controller yet!
  • New tabletop design is compatible with any mix environment
  • Neutral sound encourages better mix decisions for stronger, quicker results
  • Even more full-featured than the MC2.1:
    • 5 inputs, including digital AES / S/PDIF and 1/8" aux
    • Audition audio through up to 3 sets of speakers at once, with or without a sub
    • Set and recall a listening level preset with the push of a switch
    • Toggle internal or external talkback mics
    • Cue mix support with 2 headphone outputs and level controls
    • Band Solo switches focus the highs, mids, or lows of your mix
  • Large Master Volume knob is comfortable in the hand
  • Robust knobs and switches are built for life
  • Mix Check section highlights deficiencies in your mix with Phase, Mono, and L-R Swap switches
  • Color-coded LEDs divide the MC3.1 into sections
  • Kensington security lock keeps your controller safe in shared environments
Arrive at better mixes faster with the Drawmer MC3.1 monitor controller!

What is Demo Gear?

At Sweetwater, we're so picky that what we call a "demo" is actually better than what most music retailers sell as "new" gear! Our gear hasn't endured hundreds of people a week plunking away at all the keyboards, fumbling through Stairway to Heaven on every guitar or playing with every fader and knob on a mixer or control surface.

What demo means to us is that we've had it out of the box, or maybe it was in a customer's hands for a few days and isn't "factory fresh" as a result. Every demo item we sell has Sweetwater's 2-year Total Confidence Coverage™ warranty, and has been tested and verified up to "new" specs by our factory-authorized technicians to make sure it's in perfect working order before we ship it to you.

When you buy a Demo item at Sweetwater, you get:
  • 2-year Total Confidence Coverage Warranty™!
  • Products inspected and tested by our factory-authorized techs, guaranteed to function like new (or better)!
  • FREE shipping on most items
  • Equipment that will MEET or EXCEED your expectations!

I Love this controller

I've had an SPL unit for years that over time hasn't functioned well, probably all the moves. This unit is amazing enabling new monitoring use cases.
Adding a sub that can be used with any set of monitors
a low mid high cut filter to mix check
The sound quality is awesome.
Very happy with the purchase.

Much Improved Sound

Just wanted to add that I also replaced my Presonus monitor station with the Drawmer MC3.1. Big jump in quality of sound and it's built like a tank. Long over due purchase.

Major difference

I "moved up" from a Presonus Command Center. My monitors are Focal Shape Twins (which are amazing BTW). At first I wasn't as impressed with the Focals as I thought I should be - and looked at my signal chain - and replaced the presonus with the Drawmer. HUGE difference. Clarity - volume - actually more logic layout of controls - and flexible. CAUTION - there is a preset button that will override where the volume knob is (so you can go to your favorite mix level whenever) it comes set to FULL volume. There's a little trim control in the front - just turn that (off in my case) down before using it or you could blow you monitors out. The Drawmer is a first class, well made product and I am really please with it.

Big step up from Presonus Monitor station

TJ Jackson my sales engineer always hooks me up with great gear.
When I go for an upgrade and it's always an improvement but usually it's pretty subtle. I think if every step in the chain improves then the overall chain get a lot better.
The Drawmer MC3.1 was a Big improvement. I'm using Focal 6Be for my main monitors and the Mids and Highs are so clear I had to adjust my perception a bit. The Presonus made the bass a lot boomier. I think it masked some of the Mids and Highs. At fist I wanted more bass but it's very clear I was just not hearing all the details. I really liked the presonus and all it's features and thought upgrade to the Drawmer and see how it goes. It was one of the best purchases I've made. I'm running mu Kemper and Helix through it and they sound so much better. Also the Features on the Drawmer are right on par with the Presonus. Maybe the next Generation will have monitor levels, 4 headphone jacks, move the aux input from the top to the back or side, and blue toothl. That's a lot to ask but as it is I'm 100% satisfied with it. I love the band solos section.
Thanks TJ

Use the digital inputs!

Man! I don't know what converters are in this unit but man this thing sounds amazing! Hooked up to my focusrite clarett 8pre usb going from the s/pdif to xlr digitally made the monitor outputs just pointless and now I've got 2 more open outputs. The monitor outputs were just so aggressive sounding in comparison and that aggression didn't suite the unit nor payback very well either. Plug in that digital cable and listen as your world opens up on a near mastering grade (if not) level of clarity and space at least for me. Gonna throw some hardware in there on the back end (SSL Buss Comp) and really get things going.
