Pick up an extra LD Systems Maui 44 G2 Subwoofer and augment the low frequencies of your existing Maui 44 G2 PA system. This subwoofer features a custom-designed 15-inch low-frequency driver for a deep and powerful sound. Pair two Maui 44 G2 subwoofers together and turn on Cardioid mode for enhanced rear attenuation. And if rear attenuation isn’t a worry, turn both speakers toward the crowd and deactivate cardioid mode for chest-thumping low-end extension. Both modes sound great, thanks to the automatic setup detection, which ensures the speaker is optimized for your current speaker configuration. However you’re using it, you won’t need to worry about pushing this subwoofer hard, either. It comes loaded with onboard DynX DSP to limit distortion — even when you’re cranked to the max. Switchable cardioid operation
Ask any live sound engineer at Sweetwater, and they’ll tell you that low frequencies are much less directional than high frequencies. That’s why bass frequencies are heard more clearly from off-axis listening positions. So, when you’re in a venue where omnidirectional bass is an issue, turn on the Maui 44 G2’s switchable Cardioid mode. Just position a rear-facing Maui 44 G2 subwoofer next to your front-facing subwoofer and hit the Cardioid button. The second subwoofer will attenuate the low-end frequencies traveling away from the audience by as much as 15dB! Using the Cardioid mode helps you control the low-end without sacrificing punch or clarity.

Simple to set up
Gigging with an LD Systems Maui 44 G2 subwoofer is as easy as placing your sub and turning it on. This speaker’s automatic setup detection system optimizes performance depending on your speaker configuration. The subwoofer works as usual if you’re using it with a speaker column (sold separately). But what happens when you’re not working with your speaker array? No problem. The Maui 44 G2 subwoofer automatically switches to Follower mode to work in tandem with your other Maui Series loudspeakers.
