Nice Strap

Comes a little stiff, only had it a couple weeks, been working it in my hands a little each night, seams to be getting softer. Might try the mink oil. Padding is nice and soft, feels good with the Les Paul. Ive got the length set with 2 slots exposed,(making it around 44" in length) I hang my guitar up where I can play it, plenty of length left. I punched the holes a little bigger to install strap locks. Seems like a nice strap for a good price. Ive worked with leather for years, auto and hand tooled, and the way this leather was processed makes me a little skeptical as its too smooth and perfect, and the logo seems melted in rather than stamped. It would have been nice if they would have dyed the raw material on the back side black too. I might do that myself. I`ll post back after a year or so and put it through some use as time will tell how it breaks in.

Great strap.

I am very fond of this Levy's strap. I just ordered another for a new guitar. I like the adjustability and really like the soft, broken-in feel of the leather. It's comfortable on the shoulder and doesn't slide around.

The reason I bought another one is because I have a new guitar - a Peavey Powerslide lap steel. Being greatly inspired by Megan Lovell of Larkin Poe (Grammy winners! - check them out), I really wanted a lap steel that I could play while standing.

The Powerslide has a special 3-way strap that enables the guitar to be played while standing. The Powerslide is cleverly designed with that in mind.

But a couple problems: While the 3-way Peavey strap holds the guitar securely, the guitar sits too high and too close to the body for optimal playing. The guitar has a huge crescent-shaped "belly cutout", and the guitar snugly fits against the body.

But too close. Access to any point above the 12th "fret" is severely restricted. The two factors - being so high (Waist level) and close to the body made me search for remedies.

I found one. Ordered a Franklin Dobro strap that is 74" long. It has a large loop that fits over the peghead, but is very secure. The added length puts the Powerslide at a lower (3 or 4 inches) and more comfortable position for playing.

Still too close to the body, though. I thought about fabricating a sleeve of some sort to go over the guitar and position it 3 or 4 inches away from me.

While considering my options, I realized all I needed was an extra good quality leather strap. The Powerslide has 4 strap buttons. I will modify the new strap and secure it on the two closest strap buttons not used with the other strap. One is at the point (horn) of the guitar on my left, the other at the right corner of the guitar. My theory is that once I put another hole in the large part of the strap, it will span the extreme belly cut and position the guitar 3 or 4 inches away from me, and comfortably so. Did a dry run with the other Levy's leather strap - it should work fine. I will post another review once I get the new strap modified and installed.

Great strap!

Padded, so I use it on bass. Measures at the pad about 3 1/4 inches. Break it in like a ball glove (I use mink oil) or it seems a little Customer Service is at the usual high standard!

Well made, well priced, great for a heavy guitar !

The quality is always great with the Levy's straps. I have a super heavy bass, so I needed a padded, wider than usual strap. This one does the job just fine!

Length is too short

I recieved this strap as a christmas gift. I own other Levy straps that are on my various different guitars. This company's pledge to quality & workmanship is second to none. This particular strap needs about 4 more inches of adjustability. I use the strap but have to readjust my playing style when sitting down. Other than that I am well satisfied with the product. Just wish it was a few inches longer. Thks Don P
