Inspired by Classic FET Compression

Inspired by one of the most legendary compressors in music history, the Lindell Audio Lin76 Vintage Limiting Amplifier puts vintage-style compression in your hands for a budget-friendly price. This limiting amplifier's USA-made transformer, familiar control scheme, and ultra-fast attack options allow you to effortlessly impart a healthy vintage vibe to any track. Plus, it simply wouldn’t be a 76-style compressor without the iconic “all-button” mode, accessed by simultaneously punching down all four of the Lin76’s ratio buttons simultaneously. Also referred to as “British Mode,” the Lin76’s all-button mode faithfully replicates the idiosyncratic sound of the original, with a uniquely overdriven and explosive tone that Sweetwater's recording pros find perfectly suited for '70s-style hard rock drums. If you’re looking for the nuance and attitude of a vintage-style compressor without having to shell out for vintage prices, look no further than the Lindell Audio Lin76 Vintage Limiting Amplifier!

Lindell Audio Lin76 Vintage Limiting Amplifier Features:

  • Authentically replicates the tone of one of the most famous FET-style compressors in music history
  • High-quality design that utilizes a USA-made transformer
  • Sleek vintage-style VU meter to monitor your levels
  • Variable attack and release times, with incredibly fast attack to match the punchiness of the original
  • Balanced TRS inputs and outputs
  • 4:1, 8:1, 12:1, and 20:1 ratio modes, in addition to all-button mode to unlock explosive and overdriven compression attitude

Lin76

B-stock. Saved a few bucks. Could NOT find any kind of problem with unit (appears to be brand new/no scratches or anything). Works as advertised. Very happy with purchase. If you are thinking about a 76 style compressor, I believe this is the one (check out all the reviews/shoot-outs on YOUTUBE). I don't know how Lindell can sell these at such a great price! Thinking about the LIN2A now to complete my vocal chain. Easy transaction dealing with Sweetwater (as always).

Sounds legit

I've had the Warm, the KT, and the Black Lion Bluey. They all did pretty good on vocals… but that's it. Sold them all. Bass was either not controlled or got too crunchy when pushed, drums showed the obvious faults of each… loosing top end and not doing the 76 thing to the snare unless the whole signal was crushed completely. As soon as I got this I ran a mono drum bus through it. It sounds like you'd expect a real 76 to, nice gooey harmonics to the lows without getting to crunchy, nice fast transient control. It's very Rev D if I were to classify it. However the controls seem backwards from what I remember on all my other 76's. A minor flaw, it does the thing I need it to do. Just used it on a session with a metal vocalist and it just locked the vocal in perfectly, never pumping or dipping when the vocalist pushed. I just ordered another one as I had to have a pair.
Shout out to Jimmy for the excellent customer service as always. Cheers.

Excellent…Raising the bar

I bought this after a week of listings to shoot out and reviews on YouTube and boy oh boy. I was not disappointed. It's phenomenal. As soon as I got it I ran some drums through it and the result was remarkable. Nice warm bottom ends. Clean mids and nicely tamed top end. I can't remember the original 1176 sound that I experienced 30 years ago by I can sure tell you, this LIN76 is no joke. I'm going to patch it into my vocal tracking with my Slate ML-1 running into my SSL SiX. That combo sounds like money. I'm getting another one of course.

Lin76

I am a new fan of Lindell Audio. Their gear is affordable, solid and second to none. The Lin76 is no exception. I love the modern circuitry design of the classic 1176 and the sound is phenomenal for a fraction of the cost. It's like butter for your bread. I bought mainly for that crisp shine that it can add to a vocal and also sometimes throw on a drum overhead to open up the drums and breathe life into the recording. It's easy to see from the build where they have shaved some cost on the parts, but that is mainly cosmetic type stuff like the plastic knobs with aluminum wrap, the VU meter is plastic, and there are no xlr connections, only TRS. Overall, the unit looks great, but more important it does what it's supposed to do and sounds great doing it.

NOTE: I can't see on the unit where it was assembled - many assume it's made in China, but I can't determine that 100%

Very Nice clone of the Uriel 1176

When I heard the sound of this thing is very warm and full sounding. With my neve and Comp2a and trident eq this gives the vocal a shine right into the DAW. Don't think about it cop it. The only thing that I see could need some Improvement is the screw on the back to set it to unity is too sensitive. Other than that the sound of it is on point.
