Overall Happy

Let's take it for what it is, a laptop holder that attaches to the side of a keyboard stand. The concept is great the design not so much. I gave 4 stars because the space-saving aspect is so huge for me. Unlike most people I can't afford a legit studio desk for my 88-key keyboard and laptop and interface etc. Not just that I likely couldn't fit it in my little studio space. So all things factored this little contraption is great. A little unstable? You bet. Constantly adjusting it? You bet. Anything that is going to drive me crazy? Not even. After using it for years now I have it right where I can tolerate it. Eventually I will have a bona fide setup but until then I am more than happy with this product. Oh BTW I have a MacBook Pro 15 if you couldn't tell from the photo so not exactly a light laptop. It holds it up just fine.

Great Addition

Since the Omega system doesn't have an option for a third level, I decided to split mine in two.
I was a little worried by other reviews that the stand wouldn't be sturdy enough for what I wanted to do, but it turned out great! While laptops might weigh about 3 lbs, I've put my Minilogue (6 lbs) on and it's rock-solid. I added another on the other side for a pair of drum machines and everything fits great.
No problems with parts fitting perfectly and the connection to the main stand doesn't move a bit. I am very pleased with this purchase.

Some issues

Some quibbles with this one.

It really is a laptop "holder," and less a sturdy stand. Those two screws that clamp to the holder to the stand are bearing a lot of the weight. You need to be careful not to lean on the platform or apply too much downward pressure.

The height isn't really adjustable, aside from adjusting the platform angle. Based on where I added it to my Omega stand (left side, angled towards me), it juuuuust clears the keyboard's height. Fortunately you can adjust the distance from the stand, which allows some flexibility... but again, adds to the stress on the clamp. Expect to experiment with positioning.

I'd also recommend some velcro to keep your laptop in place. There's nothing to keep it from sliding off the sides.

Great Design, Bad Quality Control

K&M has great designs, but their quality control is not good. I wanted two of these, but I had to order an extra one so that I could mix and match the parts and end up with two of them that fit together properly.

There were two problems: a screw that wouldn’t screw into a threaded hole because parts were misaligned, and two of the little pegs that keep the laptop from sliding off the tray had threads that would not screw into the plastic wing nuts because the thread sizes didn’t match.

Sweetwater was really good, though. They sent me the third item along with a return authorization so I could send back the collection of defective parts and get a refund.
