An Intuitive, Flexible Way to Teach
The LC4 Music Lab offers music educators an intuitive, flexible way to teach a group of students either all at once, one-on-one, or split into smaller groups - all without ever leaving their own instrument The exciting part about the new LC4 is its ability to control the entire lab wirelessly with Yamaha's exclusive LC4 Controller App. This app adds functionality that was never possible on the LC3, including icon/button layout control and student naming/attendance. There's even an auto-scan feature similar to the one found on Yamaha's previous MLC100 lab. An additional LC4WIFI KIT, sold separately, will be required for iPad control.

The LC4 Music Lab system effectively allows an instructor ubiquitous control over classes expandable to as many as 48 students. Using a system of headphones/mics, it's as if each student is isolated in their own virtual practice room - ideal for private practice or one-on-one instruction with a teacher. Any instrument with a stereo headphone output can be taught using the LC4, including Yamaha keyboards, digital pianos, Silent Series brass and string instruments, or electronic percussion.
It's All In One BoxThe LC4BASE comes with everything needed (except the musical instruments) for eight students and one teacher (nine stations). That's all the headsets, cabling, I/O boxes, Hub and Control Unit to get a lab up and running fast. The LC4EXP comes with everything needed to add 8 more students to the LC4BASE (max 48 students).
Backward-compatible with LC3 and LC2 ConsolesThe LC4EXP is backward-compatible for expanding older labs of LC3 or LC2 when it's time to increase the number of students and student instruments. The LC4WIFI KIT and wireless control via iPad will only work with the new LC4BASE and is not compatible with previous generations like the LC2 or LC3.
