Dark, Dry, and Full of Character

The Zildjian K Custom Left Side Ride, developed by clinician and session great Peter Erskine, is as dark and dry as the desert nightfall. Its deliberately distressed finish and articulate, full-bodied stick definition make this cymbal an essential part of any jazz or blues trio — whether as your main ride or as a side ride. The 20" Left Side Ride grooves and swings like a classic. Its dark, controlled tone helps sticking patterns come across cleanly; three rivets add subtle, lingering sustain to timekeeping, accents, and crashes. For a ride with character and cut, consider the Zildjian K Custom Left Side Ride from Sweetwater.

My go to

Been my "go to" (well…only) ride for close to 30 years.

My favorite

I used to manage a drum shop, so I've played literally thousands of cymbals. I own or have owned EAKs, As, Istanbul Agop and Mehmet, even an EAK hand selected by Lenny DiMuzio for a Zildjian Day event back in '84. My very favorite ride, and the one I gig with every time is the Left Side Ride. The bell is cutting and clear, very A like, with no odd overtones like you'll find on many Ks, but with a colicky stick definition and low undertones like you'll get on a good K. The crash is very useable, too.

I love it.

Left side sizzle ride

This is a great jazz blues ride cymbal, classic rock forget about it. My favorite I take it to every gig hoping the band is not to loud, So I can play it. It swings! It shuffles. It's bad mofo

Doesn't matter which side!

I purchased this intending to be a secondary ride, but I quickly fell in love with it's sound and can't quit playing it. For smaller gigs where you may not have room to set up but a few cymbals then this would be my go to ride. I was not a fan of the distressed look at first but since it is part of the sound I was looking for I grew to accept it. When I received it I was surprised to find it looked much better than any pictures or videos I had seen. Now I love the look as well as the sound. No cons for me with this cymbal!

Ask any drummer at Sweetwater, and chances are, we'll tell you that Zildjian represents the gold - or rather bronze - standard in cymbal making. Seriously, Avedis Zildjian may have been trying to make gold, but he did even better when he formulated what's arguably the best cymbal material on the planet. We've played virtually every type of Zildjian cymbal out there, and you won't find anyone at Sweetwater who wouldn't happily recommend their instruments to you, plus their sticks and other accessories are also pretty sweet. Whether you're grabbing your first S or ZBT pack or have saved up for the A or K series cymbals you've always wanted, Sweetwater is your source for all things Zildjian.
