The Fender Kurt Cobain Jaguar features a custom volume-volume-tone control setup with knurled chrome knobs.

Amazing guitar!

Such an awesome guitar. Playability is on point, and the short scale was just what i needed. Theres so many good things i could say abt this, but here are the couple negatives. There's very few flaws on this guitar, and only one of them really bothers me.

The first flaw is that the middle position on the toggle sounds like it's only the neck pickup. Nbd to me, because i don't use middle positions often, but it'd be nice to have the option.

The second is a bigger issue to me, but if mostly comes down to personal preference. The nut wasn't slotted very wide, and i can't fit a set of 12s on it. Considering my squier affinity strat could, it's a pretty big issue to me.

Limited Supply of Lefties?

I've been a right-handed player for over thirty years - looking for a learning challenge, I wanted a solid player - as well as a guitar with a sound currently not represented by a guitar in the studio racks. As a life long player, I don't mind the price tag, as long as the guitar's value meets the bill. Even if you're not the world's biggest Nirvana fan, this Fender Jag should rate fairly high on your acquisitions list: Alternate electronics configuration, hard case, artist/custom appointments - pretty much perfect setup right out of the box. A little play time to break it in, and you've got a solid gigging guitar. Recommended for lefty-players whether or not you're a Kurt Cobain/Nirvana fan - or looking for a short scale offset.

Whoa

This guitar us amazing. Throw a ds1 in front if a twin verb and you have the tone of nirvana. Extremely comfortable. Even at the short scale. Could not be happier.

Freakin awesome

This guitar dominates. I absolutely love it. From the unique yet classy look, to the les Paul/ super strat tones it rocks. What I love is the looks and the sounds, but also it is totally comfortable to play sitting down. The guitar "hugs" perfectly while playing sitting down especially. Standing up its fine to play as well no easier or harder than a strat. It's kind of heavy but it's honestly so well shaped that it doesn't matter to me. The neck feels really nice and I'm happy with it. (The neck is the most important thing when it comes to playing if you ask me) it has that vintage glossy look/feel. It's super comfortable and relatively fast
Cons.. there is a slight learning curve with the bridge. You will have to slightly adapt your technique but it's no different than the learning curve of going from a strat to a Paul… it's kind of heavy but not really… it's not an insta-shred guitar like the charvel teles were when they had those left handed.. but it has the right fuel if you add a little heat.

This needs to be said. At this point in history Fender Mexico is clearly superior in build quality than American products. Over the summer I briefly owned one of the fender deluxe strats and while it was nice it wasn't like wow I'm playing a 2000$ guitar. This is the second recent fender Mexico product I've owned (the other being a charvel sassafras) and this jaguar is absolutely superior in every way to both my charvel and my high end strat, especially the inspiration to create. And the charvel was about on par but half the price… this is absolutely a historic period in which the Mexican fender products are superior than the American made. Let's not forget about fender japan in the late 80s… (thank you guitar history YouTube channels)

In conclusion i easily have this guitar at 5 stars. It's a must have and honestly it's a marketing mistake to try to sell this guitar off the basis of Kurt cobain. This is a guitar for anyone including people who are not fans of nirvana. I was actually hesitant to even buy it because it's like "oh I'm just a nirvana fan music nerd" and also if you've ever watched any nirvana concerts Kurt's guitar playing is kind of lazy and crappy and his tone is as well.. and that's coming from a real nirvana fan.. but this guitar kills it.

All in all I'm a fan of this guitar and I absolutely love it. Whether you're a nirvana fan or just looking for something that's completely good but different this guitar is a must have.
