A Solid, Performance-driven Bass

Bassists searching for a no-nonsense, workhorse instrument suitable for a multitude of genres confidently choose the Jackson Spectra JS2. From its lightweight poplar body to its pair of Jackson P/J pickups, the Spectra JS2 ticks all the boxes for a gig-ready, hot-rodded bass guitar. A slick-feeling maple neck with a comfort scarf joint allows you to access all 24 frets, while a laurel fingerboard with a 12-inch radius encourages hours of playing, whether you’re laying down grooves or experimenting with bass solos. Sweetwater bass players are quick to note the push-pull Volume control, which lets you engage the active electronics and bass boost, further expanding your sonic options to new heights. All these features and more make the Spectra JS2 an excellent performance instrument, whether it’s your first or 10th bass.

Dynamic duo of active P/J pickups

Whether you’re recording direct in the studio or plugged into a massive tube amp stack onstage, enough can’t be said about the versatility of the P- and J-style pickups in the Spectra JS2. From the authoritative punch of the P-style split-coil pickup to the biting force of the J-style pickup near the bridge, these genre-bending electronics are at your control. What’s more, you also get your choice between the dynamic expression of passive circuitry and the extra power contained within the JS2’s active electronics. Additionally, while active electronics are engaged, a bass boost is on tap for truly earthshaking results.

Jackson Spectra JS2 Features:

  • Performance-driven bass that’s suitable for a multitude of genres
  • Lightweight poplar body provides a solid foundation for your bass tone
  • Bolt-on maple neck with scarf joint allows unfettered access to the highest frets
  • Laurel fingerboard with a 12-in. radius and 24 frets offers a universally comfortable playing experience across the entire neck
  • Classic P- and J-style pickups produce traditional yet versatile bass tones
  • Active and passive voices with an active bass boost expand your available tonal palette

What is Certified Open Box Gear?

At Sweetwater, we're so picky that what we call "Certified Open Box" is actually better than what most music retailers sell as "new" gear! Our gear hasn't endured hundreds of people a week plunking away at all the keyboards, fumbling through Stairway to Heaven on every guitar or playing with every fader and knob on a mixer or control surface.

Certified Open Box (also known as a demo) means we’ve had it out of the box for our YouTube channel, displayed at events, tested in our studio, or maybe it was in a customer’s hands for a few days and isn’t ‘factory fresh’ as a result. Every Certified Open Box item we sell has Sweetwater’s 2-year Total Confidence Coverage™ warranty and has been tested and verified up to ‘new’ specs by our factory-authorized technicians to make sure it’s in perfect working order before we ship it to you.

Note: While Certified Open Box items from Jackson do not include the Fender Musical Instruments Corporation warranty, you can shop with confidence knowing that this item is backed and covered by Sweetwater’s 2-year Total Confidence Coverage™ warranty.

When you buy a Certified Open Box item at Sweetwater, you get:
  • 2-year Total Confidence Coverage Warranty™!
  • Products inspected and tested by our factory-authorized techs, guaranteed to function like new (or better)!
  • FREE shipping on most items
  • Equipment that will MEET or EXCEED your expectations!

I bought this one year ago!
I bought this one year ago from late April to early May of 2020. I have been very very pleased with it. Great price, my sales engineer worked with me on strings, setting it up, I couldn't have any better active bass. When I get ready to order another bass, SweetWater is my company. The first thing I bought from them was a bigger amp for my first bass. Worked together and I reviewed my BA 110 Ampeg Amp two to three days. Been very pleased with that one. The price was great. I am now a loyal and faithful customer now. I had respect, when I have issues what issues there were, I was walked through it with respect, caring words, and support. Thank you Sweetwater for your respect, promptness. I am having blast with this Bass!
