Carve Out a Canyon of Tone
To celebrate 50 years of guitar building, the Ibanez Japan Custom Shop is proud to present arguably the most distinctive S model ever built: the 50th-anniversary Japan Custom Shop JPCS25 Koa Canyon. Few guitars can boast a construction as unique as the Koa Canyon, which sports two pieces of beautiful koa that sandwich a clear epoxy resin middle, allowing you to see through the center streak of this one-of-a-kind instrument. Apart from the attention-demanding visuals, this axe is outfitted with every performance-enhancing feature that Ibanez has at their disposal, from the speed-enabling Wizard neck to the rock-solid Lo-Pro Edge double locking tremolo. While the Koa Canyon’s looks scream high-gain shred, a HSH trio of DiMarzio pickups offer unmatched sonic versatility to deliver both exceptionally rich cleans and high-octane driven tones. The Koa Canyon is a testament to both the master craftsmanship and unparalleled imagination of the Ibanez Japan Custom Shop’s team of master luthiers, and it is sure to stand out as the crowned jewel in any guitarist’s collection!
Unique epoxy resin construction
While most of the guitars in Ibanez’s 50th-anniversary collection stand out due to their beautifully figured wood, the Koa Canyon’s namesake wood makes this a somewhat more understated axe…if you were to exclude the epoxy resin center! Like the water that runs through a canyon, the clear epoxy resin that binds the koa sides is see-through — an endlessly cool feature that few minds apart from the expert builders at the Ibanez Japan Custom Shop could dream up. What’s truly striking is the back of this instrument: when viewed from behind, the Koa Canyon’s internals are all on full display, making this axe a highly functional piece of mechanical art that’s sure to demand the attention of any audience.
Three DiMarzio pickups cover expansive sonic range
There’s no denying the massive range of tone that you can get out of the Ibanez 50th-anniversary Japan Custom Shop JPCS25 Koa Canyon’s trio of DiMarzio pickups. First, there’s the DiMarzio Tone Zone at the bridge, a hot humbucker with a super-wide dynamic range. It’s a perfect complement to the Koa Canyon’s DiMarzio Air Norton at the neck, which is deep, warm, and remarkably clean. Finally, a DiMarzio True Velvet in the middle position offers up clean, punchy high and midrange tones.
Lo-Pro Edge tremolo for maximum expression
Whether you palm mute with precision or simply have a wild strumming style, few things are worse than getting hung up on your bridge during a furious performance. Guitar players at Sweetwater all agree the Ibanez Lo-Pro Edge gets out of the way of your playing while still serving up maximum expression and tuning stability. You’ll barely know it’s there, thanks to its streamlined profile and recessed fine tuners. And locking studs give you additional tuning stability. You also get a specially designed arm socket that prevents unnecessary wobble, while providing you with full control over the arm’s torque.
