Modern Performance with Vintage J Bass Thump

If you’re after a vintage J Bass bite but prefer a more modernized style, look no further than the Fender Aerodyne Jazz Bass! Boasting a bound basswood body and slick aerodynamic lines, this J Bass will certainly stand out from the crowd, and its lightweight design is a must-have during long sets and practice sessions. Plug into your favorite amp, and two custom Aerodyne Special Single-coil Jazz Bass pickups reward you with the warmth, snarl, and sheer tonal flexibility that’s been the Jazz Bass’ calling card since 1960. Whether you’re simply playing the root or unleashing full 4-string virtuosity, the rosewood-on-maple neck’s Modern “C” shape and satin finish provides a slick, fast feel that’s sure to enhance your playing. A Babicz Z-series FCH-4 Bass ties it all together with a tone-enhancing full contact design and unmatched reliability, all adding up to a Jazz bass that perfectly blends vintage tone, high-performance playability, and modern style.

Custom Aerodyne Special pickups

Don’t be fooled by the Aerodyne Special Jazz Bass’ futuristic form — this bass delivers an exceptional recreation of classic vintage J Bass tone. Sporting two Aerodyne Special Jazz Bass pickups, the standard J Bass setup of two per-pickup volume controls and a single master tone unlock everything from a snarling bridge position bite to the unmatched warmth and round low-end punch of the neck position. What’s more, when both pickups are cranked, you get a beautiful full-range punch that Sweetwater bassists find is perfect for filling out a mix.

Top-of-the-line performance

The Aerodyne Special Jazz Bass’ neck is loaded with high-performance appointments that will appease even the most demanding of bassists! Starting off with the classic combo of a maple neck and a rosewood fingerboard, this bass’ flat 12-inch radius and medium-jumbo frets are quite a departure from the standard Fender formula, yet they deliver a seriously smooth and effortless feel that facilitates all manner of low end virtuosity. Lastly, the Modern “C” shape offers a quick, fast-playing feel when thumping out your lines, and the body’s Babicz Z-series FCH-4 Bass bridge enhances your tone with increased sonic transference to the body.

Sleek Aerodyne Special aesthetics

Fender’s Aerodyne Special series is a futuristic take on their most famous guitar and bass models, loaded with high-performance features and sleek Aerodyne aesthetics. Each model in the Aerodyne Special series features a lightweight pickguard-less basswood body that’s carved with aerodynamic lines, then finished off with body binding for a touch of class. The result is an instrument that’s undeniably Fender, but updated for the 21st century. However, as stylish as these guitars and basses look, the Aerodyne special treatment is much more than a visual update — every instrument in this series is loaded with a rock-solid custom Babicz Z-series bridge and custom Aerodyne special pickups for the utmost tone and performance.

Fender Aerodyne Special Jazz Bass Features:

  • Custom Aerodyne Special basswood body offers an updated take on iconic Jazz Bass aesthetics
  • Sleek pickguard-less design and bound body
  • Maple neck in a comfortable Modern “C” shape for a high-performance feel
  • Rosewood fingerboard loaded with medium jumbo frets in a flat 12-inch radius
  • Ultra-stable open-gear tuners
  • Aerodyne Special Jazz Bass pickups replicate the snarling bridge tone and massive low-end power of a vintage model
  • Rock-solid Babicz Z-series FCH-4 bridge combines classic Fender tone and modern performance
  • Crafted in Fender’s world-class Japanese factory
