Software Compatibility

You'll need an iLok copy protection device in order to use this software. If you already have one, you're good to go. If you don't, you can buy one here. An iLok is a small USB gadget (about the size of a thumb drive) that plugs into your computer. It "unlocks" the software, allowing you to use it.

Most software is compatible with both Mac and Windows computers, but check to make sure.

If you're using Pro Tools, AAX plug-ins (or RTAS for older versions) are what you need. Most other Mac DAWs support AU plug-ins. VST is compatible with a number of Mac and Windows programs. Be sure you choose plug-ins that work with your DAW!

A Modern and Efficient Graphical EQ

Looking for a one-stop-shop EQ that can do it all? Check out the Infinity EQ plug-in from Slate Digital. This 24-band graphical EQ aims at the modern engineer who wants to work fast and get great results. Optimized for mouse control and touchscreen surfaces, with compact control groups for the ultimate economy of motion, the Infinity EQ is astonishingly efficient and designed to push your workflow into hyperdrive. Did we mention it sounds great, too? When engineers at Sweetwater took the Infinity EQ for a spin, the watchword was "transparency,” no matter if you use it for subtle carving or dramatic tonal transformation. And, with continuously shapeable slopes, simultaneous cut and boost, and powerful Mid/Side and Left/Right processing, the Slate Digital Infinity EQ is a horse for every course.

Note: This product requires an iLok (not included) for authorization. Please call your Sweetwater Sales Engineer if you have questions.

Optimize your workflow

The Slate Digital Infinity EQ is all about workflow. Its intuitive interface is laid out to minimize mouse movements, with tight groupings for related functions and no right-click drop-down menus. Double-click on any point to create one of up to 24 filter bands, and use the sliders that hover above or below the band to shape the slope and adjust the Q. For pinpoint listening, you can click the headphone icon to solo a band. And, the Infinity EQ lets you affect multiple bands simultaneously by selecting and linking band groups. Paired with automation, the tone-shaping possibilities of the Infinity EQ are nearly limitless.

Stunningly transparent sound

Featuring zero-latency analog matching, the Infinity EQ’s filters are remarkably transparent, which is just what you need when performing surgical equalization. And when you push them, they also sound great with no brittle highs or flubby lows. And Slate has packed the Infinity EQ with a slew of helpful presets to speed up your process and inspire creative tone-crafting. The Infinity EQ is so versatile that it just might become your desert-island equalizer!

Outstanding stereo processing

The Infinity EQ is a standout channel EQ for performing traditional parametric EQ functions, and it includes advanced stereo EQ capabilities, too. Easily select between Mid/Side or Left/Right processing to add width or carve out space, so instruments with like timbres can sit better in the stereo field. A go-to method for top mix engineers, Mid/Side processing can be the difference between a good mix and a great mix.

Flexible, Fast, Does exactly what you want it to do

There's something about this EQ. I've been using it on every mix for over a year now. From day 1, I was able to get really fast, instant results.

The entire interface is graphical drag and drop, no knobs (this can actually be a gripe for me as I'm a RAVEN user and it can make it hard to make adjustments if I don't switch to a mouse, but I get it, I wouldn't use this eq the same if they were there.)

The numerical values are secondary in Infinity EQ. You have to really look to see the numerical frequencies, decible, and q values. This means if I need to cut 12 db of a certain frequency and that would normally sound a little extreme, I have fewer values to second guess myself and just keep moving on.

The RTA has a fantastic response and is actually incredibly useful for High Pass filtering. Sometimes it can take a sharp cut to remove masking sub lows that are difficult to hear, and I can just quickly scroll a mouse wheel and make a fast linear adjustment and watch the frequency roll off, keeping me musically focused when dealing with the minutiae.

Aside from the simple linear frequency, gain, and q adjustments you can make (you can make this eq cut SHARP if you want, there is a handfull of other useful extra features that make the functionality of a simple eq push into more creative territory. You can warp your peaking, shelving, and pass curves to focus resonances and certain frequencies, or even "flat top" your eq curve for super precise work when necessary. There is also a VERY easy mid-side functionality that you can individually assign to specific curves, from there, you can even use a balance function to either assign how strongly to balance the curve between the mids and sides or have them counteract to your desired degree.

While all of these extras can sound like they'd serve to complicate the workflow, they really don't. There is no clicking around on menus, almost all controls are achieved with a simple click and scroll.

Infinity EQ is a highly recommended plugin that keeps me musically focused when dealing with surgical moves, but also sounds great for big additive boosts, and plenty of creative functionality as well.

These are features I'd love to see added:

"Touchscreen/Raven mode" - toggle switch that temporarily enables control knobs on selected frequencies. Can toggle on to keep things simple when opening the plugin

Dynamic EQ bands

Linear phase mode (just as a secondary mode, I rarely need it, but I could put this on my crossover multiband auxes more easily with this function

Most intuitive plugin, possbily ever.

I have - maybe 30 - eq options to reach for, and I always reach for this one first. Infinity eq is goat level equalizer, transparent, mid side processing and soloing, band selective soloing .. wow. Im not sure it needs it, but all I want is the ability to add dynamic eq to bands like pro q 3, but know Slate, they'll likely add it in the future.

Top of the List...

Been through most of the plugin EQs available. One in particular can be found in most studios. This one is superior in ease of use/workflow with some new variations; and simply sounds spectacular. Smoothest, most natural, non-digital sounding highs I've heard. Using the 'headphone' feature, it is quick to isolate and correct problem frequencies. Its treatment of mid/side functions is brilliant. Simply the best EQ going today. A big thanks to Slate Digital & Sweetwater.

The Overtone Destroyer

When you're tracking in a smaller space like me, stuff like cymbal bleed and overtones can get out of control. I now use the Infinity EQ on any track that needs cleaned up on a surgical level. Leaving off half a star because, contrary to the name, there is a limit to how many bands/nodes you can have, but it's still way more than any other graphic EQ I've seen.
