The Auralex ISO-Tone delivers on it's promise to help my turntable sound better. Most noticeable is tighter bass and overall cleaner sound.

Fantastic. Improves sound significantly by isolating turntable from vibration. Don't get a new turntable until you try this on your old one.

I have to admit, it is really a good product. I had my doubts, since there was the hard base on top of the foam layer. My comparison is to 1" bubble wrap, which is what I was using to kill vibrations from the floor of the room my stereo separates live. This stuff looks a whole lot better and kills vibrations about as well, so that's why it is staying under my turntable. Maybe if I had tried everything under the sun other than bubble wrap I would have been blown away. But I was blown away already when I had finally tried the bubble wrap after several other trial and error devices, some made up by me rather than a commercial item.

This is a worthy item. I can now walk across the room while a record is playing and it won't skip, which is what would happen with nothing but a 1/2" plywood base and a special set of turntable feet made to kill vibrations that had no effect on foot-traffic vibrations in front of my turntable..

I bought these because I was under the impression (It plainly says it in the description) That this is an isolation pad and will help with feedback. It's a good isolation pad That's really good if record skipping is your problem when you walk across the floor but only helped maybe a tiny bit with the feedback problem I was having. I have now purchased isolation pads for everything I have and it helped to a very small degree but I can still only turn my turntable up so high while listening to LPs. I am very disappointed in all the junk that's out there. And believe me there is a bunch of it. The most success I had was putting kitchen sponges under the turntable that my wife had purchased at the grocery store For about $2. Now after spending almost $200 on isolation pads and other gadgets I'm really no better off than I was before.

This system has solved my vibration problem, although I don't quite understand why the two layers are used. Also, the total thickness is 2.0 inches, not 1.75. Both layers must have some support underneath it, such as a shelf, either metal or wooden. As my turntable weighs 26 lbs., I needed a minimum of a 1/2" wooden shelf to support it. Already having vibration problems, I shied away from a metal shelf. This makes the total thickness a whopping 2 1/2'.

To "knock me out", the Auralex platform would have to be no thicker than a one-inch thickness and still accomplish the task.
