Great Case for 88 Keyboard

I have the Pro-Go Series G-PG-88 Slim XL for my Yamaha P-255, 88-keyboard. I sent back the less professional version of Gator bag, with the build in wheels. Instead I got this longer/thinner case and separately bought the Magna Folding 150 lb hand cart on Amazon. I can strap the keybrd case and my stand to the cart with nylon strap ties and roll it anywhere with confidence. Additionally, I found a plastic bin at Target that fits the gap inside the long slim case after I put the keyboard it. There is enough room in the bin for the power supply, a sustain pedal, effects pedal, surge protection power strip and a couple of small things. The protection for the board is excellent with this case. In one trip from the car I can roll in everything I need for the keyboard. One more trip with the cart and I have the rest of the Bose LS1 and I'm ready to play.

so far so good

I elected to buy this keyboard case as it is fairly lightweight compared to a rolling bag, has excellent protection and pockets, and is a little taller inside than the regular Gator series which fits my Kawai Mp6 very well.

So far, it seems to handle the 47 lb board quite nicely and makes lugging the board around much easier! The outer corner did fray nearly immediately but I think I more than likely I scratched it on some concrete, and despite the scuff there seems no discernible effect on the bags protectiveness. I think when you're lugging around a large 88 key board probably every bag is going to be hard to keep pristine.

However, this isn't really a con, but for some weird reason Gator added backpack straps, which I've found absurd; wearing a keyboard bag like this for any full size board, especially ones beyond 35 lbs, is laughable at best. Seems like a really unnecessary feature and not really worth paying the extra material cost.

But all in all... do not regret my decision to buy the pro model one bit! Side note, having the pocket spread over the full length of the bags prevents the terrible feeling of having the bag pocket hit me in the knee from bags with the pocket bulging from the center. Unless I commit myself to dragging the bag across as much concrete as I can manage I think it'll last me for a good while!

Works great for me

My Gator hard case with wheels protects my Yamaha S70XS well but the package weighs like 73 pounds. You can not always use the wheels and with no shoulder strap moving it around is very strenuous unless you have a helper. This Pro-Go bag is like 21 pounds lighter, enough so that with the shoulder strap I can transport the package myself even up stairs. My 4.5 star rating is because they didn't have a model size that fit my S70XS board length perfectly but this one would also fit my Yamaha S90XS. Also they have a beautiful big side zippered pocket .. but I don't want to add any weight so likely it will remain empty.

Pro Go 88 Slim XL

Got this for my new Yamaha CP 4 Stage piano. Fits perfectly. Inside is very plush and flaps hold piano securely. Outside material is very strong and there is a large pocket for lap top, tablet, and other electronics. Only two concerns: the zippers are very strong but the pulls look weak and will probably break off after a while. Not a huge deal as you can find something better to use as a pull. Secondly, the shoulder strap design is poor. The attachment points are on the main bag body AND the flap. So if you use the shoulder strap you have to take off one of the connection points every time you open or close the bag. I don't use the strap so not a big deal for me. Otherwise this is a terrific product.

Well made but doesn't fit Yamaha S90ES

Fwiw this gig bag (Gator GPG88SlimXL) did not fit my Yamaha S90ES. Despite the interior measurements seeming close yet reasonable, it was just a bit too small or rounded at the corners. I wound up getting the less expensive Gator GKB88SLXL instead.

It does seems like a well made gig bag, so I'll give it 4 star bcs the review requires some kind of star rating.

Not to sound like a cliche review, but IsRael was truly super helpful in my getting this gig bag returned and trying a different one.
