Outstanding Design, Details, and Sound in a Robust Orchestra

Get the legendary, balanced, unique tone of an orchestra acoustic guitar with the Guild OM-140CE. This robust acoustic-electric guitar features a solid spruce top and solid mahogany body for full, rich acoustic tone. The mahogany neck with rosewood fingerboard offers outstanding response and playability that's ideal for flatpicking and fingerpicking alike. Strum the OM-140CE with big, open first-position chords and hear the sustain and resonance that make the Westerly series acoustic guitars a favorite among guitarists here at Sweetwater. The OM-140CE also features a Guild/Fishman GT3 with Sonicore pickup for stellar amplified acoustic tone and a deep cutaway for effortless access higher up the neck for lead runs and varied chord voicings.

A legendary series

The Westerly series of acoustic guitars taps into Guild's second chapter after relocating the company’s design and build headquarters from New Jersey to a Rhode Island furniture factory. This larger, improved space afforded a new direction and dedication to improving their already excellent craftsmanship. And the OM-140CE is part of that tradition as it reflects impeccable build details and fine appointments — all with a focus on improved tone and durability. A genuine rosewood bridge and real bone nut and saddle enhance tone and resonance on the OM-140CE. In addition, scalloped spruce X-bracing provides additional resonance and sustain enhancement as well as ensuring long-term durability.

Awesome amplified tone

The Guild/Fishman GT3 with Sonicore pickup in the OM-140CE is a wonderfully designed system that naturally and fully translates the acoustic tone of this fine instrument. The sound is full and dynamic onstage, and it pairs well with a microphone for recording parts at home or in the studio. Volume and tone controls are mounted directly in the soundhole for easy access and a look that won't detract from your guitar's natural beauty.

Excellent value, really fine instrument.

Very simply I think if you want a Martin or a Taylor and don't want the price this guitar's for you. Really playable and pick up does a nice job. A guitar doesn't need to be fancy. Super comfortable to sit with too. I recommend buying from Sweetwater. You get great service and you know someone has inspected your purchase to make sure you're getting what you should.

Love it

I just got my new Guild OM-140-CE. It came in a sturdy package and Sweetwater did a great job.
The guitar looks great. I started playing and I like the sound and the way it plays.
Even the gig bag is well made, sturdy and well padded.
So far I am very happy with my purchase

Absolutely stunning

I've played quite a few acoustics, from Martins, to Taylors, to the cheaper models like Carlo Robelli. I bought this guitar hoping for a quality instrument, but got much more than I could have hoped for.

The pictures don't do it justice; this guitar (in natural) is perfection. The contrast between the Sitka spruce top, mahogany back, sides, and neck, and rosewood fretboard is beautiful. It oozes high quality and top-notch craftsmanship. The only thing better than how it looks is how it sounds.

Bright and clear in the upper register, with a surprising amount of depth to the deeper notes. Especially for a guitar of its size. It's neither too big nor too small, fitting in the "just right" size for myself and presumably most others.

I couldn't be happier with my purchase and would recommend that anyone who's looking for a premium guitar give this bad boy a try. You won't look back.

not quite what I expected

I have had several Guild guitars how ever they were all high end Guilds and were very fine and playable guitars. This particular model is NOT one of them. I can not get the action on this neck to were it is playable and neither can two noted and respect luthiers. I have been playing for 57 years and normally do my own set-ups cause who knows how I like more than I. Not on this one. Please take my word for it, spend your money on a Taylor or Martin not Guild they ain't like they use to be. Sorry but it's just the truth. This is not to be taken as an impression on Sweetwater they are excellent company to deal with. I will continue to use and recommend Sweetwater to anyone.
Music background: 57 years of play and about 50 year of playing on lower broad in Nashville, Tn.
