Gorgeous Jumbo Acoustic from Guild

A legend returns in the Guild F-55 Jumbo. This beautifully crafted acoustic-electric achieves incredible clarity, balance, and volume with its combination of classic tonewoods and exquisite craftsmanship. The Guild F-55 Jumbo features a solid Sitka spruce top and solid Indian rosewood back and sides and has the type of projection and resonance that truly fills the room even when unplugged. This gorgeous instrument also features a mahogany neck with a walnut strip and an ebony fingerboard for further great tone and playability. The F-55 also has detailed, vintage appointments like classic Guild V-block inlays, gold hardware, and a beautiful finish. Finally, an Anthem pickup gives the F-55 amazing amplified tone when plugged in. Sweetwater acoustic collectors love the Guild F-55 Jumbo.

Exceptional volume and projection

One of the most immediate things that you will notice with the F-55 is the volume you get even with the most moderate strumming. The tonewoods and jumbo body style of the F-55 are built for big sound. You can explore nearly any style on the F-55 — folk, country, rock, and more. The F-55 is also great for fingerpicking. That means you'll be able to play with nuance, flowing between delicate passages and aggressive runs. Where other guitars may top out and start to sound indistinct, the F-55 remains clear and focused.

Solid spruce top for rich tone that improves with age

Guild knows that the choice of top wood can make or break the sound of an acoustic guitar. For the F-55, Guild chose a solid Sitka spruce top. Chosen as much for its look as its tone, solid spruce has a bold sound with excellent projection. And because it's a solid-wood top, the tone of your F-55 will age gracefully, with enhanced harmonics and greater tonal balance as the years go by.

Guild F-55 Acoustic-electric Guitar Features:

  • Solid Sitka spruce top and solid Indian rosewood back and sides produce amazing projection and tone
  • Ebony fingerboard plays and responds beautifully
  • Anthem pickup system provides exquisite amplified tone
  • Finish gives the F-55 a beautiful look and allows the tonewoods to breathe and age naturally
  • Gotoh SE700 open-gear gold tuners keep your F-55 in tune

This guitar is incredible

It's perfect and rich. It reminds me of playing a grand piano.

An American beauty!

This guitar has such a great tone, even the slightest hit of a string makes it sing. It's really comfortable for being such a good guitar though I would suggest you try it first to see if you can handle it as Jumbo guitars are really big. The guitar is obviously a high end premium Amerian guitar so you get what you'd expect (Roseewood, Sitka Spruce, Gold tuners, solid woods etc. but the thing that truly makes this guitar pop is the tone and overall deep range that this guitar has whether you're strumming or fingerpicking. Another bonus that this has over other guitars in similar price ranges is that it's much more unique and hard to find, it's got a totally different sound compared to other guitars I've heard. It's beautiful, big and overall a great guitar that I would highly suggest to anyone looking for a nice guitar. Big thanks to the great luthiers and workers at Guild's Oxnard factory in California!

Guild F-55E

Can't put this guitar down- unless I'm picking up its sibling, the 12 string version. Been a Martin guy forever and always will be, but couldn't get by without my Guilds now.

Guild is Back

I have a Guild F1512 12 string, which I thought might have been the last decent guitar Guild had made until now. I got to audition this in the Sweetwater store against Martin, Taylor, Gibson (I have one or more of all of those), and the others sounded anemic by comparison. This guitar has perfect balance, projection and tone. You don't get the percussive sounds you get from the Gibson SJ's and while it's neck reminds you of Taylor, the sound is much fuller. Martin also came in sounding weak. This guitar can sound subtle or strong. To my ears it's the perfect guitar for a singer-songwriter with a strong voice that needs a guitar that can keep up, and it's a smoother sounding and playing guitar than the SJ100 & 200.

Well Worth The Wait!

This beautiful guitar has exceeded all my expectations. From its depth and breadth of sound, to its rich tones, to its dynamic range in volume and projection, to its stunning aesthetics, Guild has outdone themselves. The LR Baggs Anthem Mic and Undersaddle Pickup is the perfect companion for this guitar as the dual pickup ensures the amplified sound is true to the guitar's full, natural tones unlike so many other pickups that can make acoustics sound thin. I had to wait 3 months from the time I ordered it until delivery, but it is so worth it, especially since I pretty much received it direct from the factory. I look forward to many years with this work of art! Thank You Guild, and Thank You Wayne Wildman and everyone at Sweetwater!
