An Enchanting Guitar with a Sinker Redwood Soundboard

Sweetwater strummers attest that the Taylor Custom #32 Grand Auditorium continues the company’s legacy of masterfully built acoustic-electric guitars with exceptionally curated tonewoods. Pick up the Custom #32, and you’ll find the distinguishing tones of sinker redwood — an old-growth tonewood reclaimed from the depths of northern California rivers that offers a bold response and rich brilliance. Taylor merged the sinker redwood soundboard with a Honduran rosewood back and sides, facilitating additional richness to the Custom #32's sound. Meanwhile, a Crelicam ebony fingerboard atop a neo-tropical mahogany neck provides you with a superb fretting field. Other features like Taylor Expression System 2 electronics, V-Class bracing, scarf neck joint, and antique gold hardware tie this guitar together for an impeccable sound quality that’s echoed in the #32’s enchanting looks.

A bold guitar with rich personality

Taylor pulled out all the stops for the Custom #32. First, your eyes will gravitate to the soundboard of sinker redwood. Plucked from the depths of a Californian river where it might have laid for over a century, this tonewood exhibits a rich visual appearance and bold sound with delightfully warm overtones — “cedar on steroids” as Taylor puts it! This sinker redwood is joined by Honduran rosewood back and sides that double-down on richness and sing with a uniquely smooth voice. You’ll find the Custom #32 plays as well as it sounds, courtesy of a neo-tropical mahogany neck in a comfortable Standard Carve and a sustainably harvested Crelicam ebony fingerboard with a 15-inch radius. You can thank the V-Class bracing, scarf neck joint, Gotoh 510 tuning machines, and bone bridge pins for the splendid resonance and intonation of the Custom #32. Lastly, the Custom #32 is set off by antique gold hardware, Indian rosewood binding, and an Indian rosewood pickguard.

Taylor’s Grand Auditorium body never misses

From flatpickers to fingerstylists, the Grand Auditorium body on the Custom #32 Grand Auditorium has found favor with acoustic guitarists since its inception. This Taylor body shape flaunts a full low register, present midrange, and gloriously sparkling treble. Taylor took it a step further by adding V-Class bracing to the tonal concoction. This contributes louder notes and long-lasting sustain to the heart of its sonic “engine.” Furthermore, Taylor strengthened the Custom #32 Grand Auditorium’s construction with its scarf-jointed peghead connection for optimum stability.

Innovative ES2 electronics

Need to plug in? Then you’ll love the Taylor Expression System 2 electronics built into the Custom #32 Grand Auditorium! The ES2 system features a revolutionary segmented pickup located behind the bridge saddle; this pickup position delivers remarkably accurate and clear sound production that’s authentic to your playing. Each ES2 system features a handy master volume knob for fast level adjustments, in addition to a 2-band EQ for independent treble/bass adjustments to get the sound you need. Plus, the ES2 system also has a built-in phase switch, which offers essential feedback suppression whenever the system is active.

Taylor Custom #32 Grand Auditorium Acoustic-electric Guitar Features:

  • Sinker redwood soundboard contributes bold, rich sound with delightfully warm overtones
  • Honduran rosewood back and sides double down on tonal richness
  • Neo-tropical mahogany neck feels comfortable with a Standard Carve
