Classic Gretsch Tone and Endless Performance Optimizations

The Gretsch G6120TG Players Edition Nashville delivers that classic Gretsch tone and feel, while providing performance-focused modern enhancements. For example, the Bigsby B6GP vibrato tailpiece has a string-through design that makes it easier to change strings while also enhancing sustain. The slim body helps fight feedback onstage while maintaining a full hollowbody tone thanks to the custom bracing pattern. Complete with a pair of all-new FT-67 Filter'Tron humbucking pickups, the Gretsch G6120TG Players Edition Nashville delivers iconic hollowbody tone in a gig-ready instrument.

New-and-improved Filter'Tron pickups

When you want that classic '50s-era archtop guitar tone, you need real Gretsch humbuckers. That's why Gretsch outfitted their G6120TG Players Edition Nashville a pair of new FT-67 Filter'Tron pickups. Unlike most humbuckers, these traditional Gretsch pickups yield a characteristically bright and open sound that's jangly on your highs with added single-coil-esque bite.

Slim body helps fight feedback onstage

With a body thickness of approximately 2.5 inches, the Gretsch G6120TG Players Edition Nashville is slimmer than many other hollowbody electrics you'll find at Sweetwater. This design element helps reduce feedback when playing onstage with loud amplifiers. Not to mention, Gretsch customized the bracing pattern of the G6120TG Players Edition Nashville to make sure that you get full hollowbody tone and depth despite the slimmer size.

Expressive Bigsby vibrato with string-through design

You can't beat the sound of a Bigsby vibrato tailpiece for expressive guitar licks, and the Bigsby B6GP on this Gretsch has a string-through design that makes it even faster to change strings. This design also helps enhance sustain and note definition, helping each note ring as clear as a bell.

Gretsch G6120TG Players Edition Nashville with Bigsby Features:

  • Hollowbody guitar with maple laminate body
  • Slim 2.5-inch body helps fight feedback onstage
  • Dual FT-67 Filter'Tron pickups for classic Gretsch guitar tone
  • Bigsby B6GP vibrato tailpiece for expressive bends and flutters
  • String-through bridge design enhances sustain and note definition
  • Treble Bleed circuit maintains clarity when rolling back the volume knob
  • No-load Tone Pot with Squeezebox capacitor goes from warm vintage vibes to shimmering liveliness at the turn of a knob
  • Gotoh locking tuners and TUSQ XL nut combine for exceptional tuning stability
  • Luminlay side dots for perfect hand placement on dark stages

Beautiful instrument in many ways

I had previously purchased an Electromatic from Guitar Center almost identical to this guitar Returned it after the first weekend because I was not satisfied with the action, the tones as well as the fact, it would not stay in tune nor did it come with a hardshell case. I then ordered this G-6120TG Nashville from Sweetwater for quite a few more dollars but I figured, you get what you pay for. I had tried to cheap it out with the Electromatic and quickly realized that I would never be happy with it. The Nashville arrived at my house in 2 days! Not only is this instrument a work of art and fitting to simply enjoy looking at it, it plays beautifully right out of the box. The action and intonation was perfect, no additional setup was required. It stays in tune reasonably well considering temperature change going to different environments which is to be expected with any steel stringed instrument. The tones produced by the F-67 Filtertrons exceeded my expectations and were way better than those on the Electomatic. When I pick up this guitar and start playing and I get lost in a world of musical wanderlust and creativity. I just can't put it down. It definitely is a cut above the Electromatic series bigtime. This one is up there with the bigdog Gretsch models. Maybe not quite as deluxe as the Country Gentleman or some of the signature models but it's pretty darn close and the quality of workmanship is meticulous on my new Nashville.
Music background: guitarist and keyboardist for more years than I care to admit to publicly

Love this guitar!

When I took this guitar out of the case and strummed it unplugged, I was in love instantly. It's resonant, beautiful, and well made. The fit and finish are excellent, as it should be for an instrument at this price point. Tuning stability was poor out of the box, so I sent the guitar for a professional setup. The nut needed to be filed deeper. After the setup there's a bit of a metallic buzz from the bridge, but tuning stability improved. Both the nut and the bridge probably need some lubricant. I'll do that at my next string change. As for the pickups and overall sound of the guitar plugged in, I love it! These FT-67 Filter'Trons are fantastic, and the tone of the guitar ranges from thumpy when the tone is rolled off to to clear to twangy. The neck is comfortable to play, and the guitar is hard to put down.
