Tons of Tone, Awesome Sustain, and Gretsch Vintage Vibe

The Gretsch Electromatic G5655TG Center Block Jr. electric guitar delivers a broad range of tone to fit a wide selection of musical styles. The G5655TG's Black Top Broad'Tron humbucking pickups provide all the bark and bite you need for blues, jazz, rockabilly, indie rock, and other styles. A chambered spruce center block provides you with tons of sustain, and a Bigsby-licensed B70 vibrato tailpiece lets you bend notes smoothly and evenly. Eye-catching gold hardware completes the package. Enhance your guitar collection with the Gretsch Electromatic G5655TG Center Block Jr. semi-hollowbody!

Black Top Broad'Trons deliver massive tonal range

Thanks to its pair of Black Top Broad'Tron humbuckers, the Gretsch G5655TG semi-hollowbody guitar serves up a uniquely dynamic and extended tonal range. The Black Top Broad'Tron pickup at the bridge delivers the solid punch and twang that have made Electromatic models such a hit among rockabilly and blues guitarists. In the neck position, the Broad'Tron delivers sparkling highs bolstered with plenty of low-end punch and clarity. Together, these pickups make the G5655TG ideal for anything from gutsy rock to glossy jazz tones.

Long spruce center block enhances your tone

You get a lot of tonal bang for your buck with the Gretsch G5655TG, thanks to its long spruce center block. Running the full length of the body, the center block allows the otherwise hollow body to resist resonant-frequency feedback. That means you can rock out louder with more gain, without your amplifier squealing out of control. Spruce is a snappy tonewood, and since the center block connects with the bridge, the note definition and clarity on the G5655TG are amazing.

Bigsby B70 tailpiece for smooth vibrato action

Nothing beats the character and vintage vibe that a Bigsby tailpiece adds to the G5655TG. It's particularly easy to pull off slow, subtle, and extended bends with the G5655TG, thanks to its Bigsby-licensed B70 vibrato tailpiece. Guitarists at Sweetwater rank the Bigsby as one of the most iconic vibrato sounds in history. One of the original vibrato units on the market, Bigsby has earned a fanatical fan base for its smooth action and solid intonation. When you want that Bigsby sound, don't settle for second best: you need a Bigsby.

I bought my Gretsch on a WIM

George Harrison of the Beatles often played a Gretsch and a Epiphone. I took both to be a strong recommendation of his love of the instruments. He also played a Fender Stratocaster and a number of Gibson model guitars. So, why would the man who could have any guitar in the world play a Gretsch, Well that is a question I have asked myself a number of times. When I received mine, the question was answered. Excellent action well over, coupled with great balance and all at a reasonable weight Are there better guitars in the world, YES there are, each of us who is devoted to 4, 6 or 12 strings. Has a standard that we develop. It is what makes a guitar work for us as musicians. Gretsch in my judgement has found the mix of things musicians seek in claiming a favorite instrument. The product is well made, comfortable and it is the type of guitar you can sit for hours or stand for hours if you are playing a gig and be perfectly comfortable with. That is a rare but wonderful experience when it is found. I personally own 23 guitars and I will always have a Gretsch in my collection, why, well because I like them and that is good enough reason. I should add that back in the mid 1960's I had the pleasure of being a day musician at MoTown. Another day musician played a Gretsch and he would not touch any other guitar. I asked him why one day and he handed me his Gretsch, since he never let anyone else touch his prized guitar, I was honored that he trusted me. It only took a couple of minutes before I could see why he has such a commitment to the Gretsch. I have been a fan every since and I am talking over 55 yers and counting.

Gretsch G5655TG Amethyst

This is my third Gretsch guitar following my G5420T and my G5422G-12 string. The smaller body size is more comfortable and the Broad'tron pickups have some bite to them. The thin "U" shaped neck has grown on me and it gets more comfortable every time I pick it up. But my favorite aspect of this guitar is the color. Purple is my favorite color and the Amethyst with gold hardware is absolutely gorgeous. As always my Sales Engineer Jeff Rohlfing was on top of things and kept me updated with the information. All in all I'm quite happy with the G5655TG as I am with my other Gretsch guitars and I'm already searching for my next one
Music background: Playing poorly for nearly 40 years
