In fact, these 3-voice Fluences work so well for his sound, he’s reconfigured his signature Epiphone guitar to feature these pickups. 3-voice alnico neck pickup
The first voice of this alnico pickup is Modern Active High Output, offering an ideal active alnico sound that is full of body and boost but with an articulate, responsive, and dynamic nature. The second voice is Crisp, with a more fluid and clean presence that emulates the humbucker tone you’ve been chasing while eliminating unnecessary thinness. Voice three is Matt’s preferred glassy, crystal-clear Single-coil tone.
3-voice ceramic bridge pickup
Voice one is matches the Modern Active High Output of the neck, but with searing crunch and growl of the ideal active ceramic humbucker. The second voice, Modern Passive Attack, is characterized by an organic passive ceramic tone with fabulous high-output snarl. It’s the distortion you want with the dynamics and responsiveness of the Fluence. Matt’s single-coil tone appears again in voice three, as in the neck pickup, and chimes with bright and revered vividness.
