An arsenal of bass tones

As do all Fluence pickups, Fishman Bass Soapbars are multi-voice and may be powered by a Fluence rechargeable battery pack or a standard 9-volt battery. Additionally, you can split them for single-coil operation with a Jazz Bass string window, or further expand your tonal palette with the included Treble and Bass controls. Voicings for the Fluence Bass Soapbar pickup were created to offer players a wide arsenal of bass tones that covers all playing styles. Bassists (and engineers) at Sweetwater are highly impressed with Fishman Fluence bass pickups. We know you will be too!

Awesome

Installed these pickups on my ESP LTD, and I am so pleased. The sound is awesome, 3 voicings - although I have to admit I only hear 2 of them, the third one just seems 'louder' and maybe that's what supposed to be. There's what I call the "quiet" voice, which sounds like the pickups I took out (EMG-HZ'S), then the "scooped" voice - great for slapping, and the "loud" voice which seems like its wider, almost like somebody turned on surround sound.

When you pull out the push-pull pot it goes into single coil mode and the 3 voices are there but slightly quieter (and there is a slight hum, almost not negligible, but if you listen hard enough you can hear it, and when you go back in the hum disappears).

The previous pickups, supposedly were passive with a 3band EQ and separate volume controls. Seriously, they didn't sound bad - that's not why I changed them... I didn't like the 'SEPARATE volume' controls (and really not that fond of "3band" EQ), but I favor the "Blend" pot, and to be able to switch from Single Coil to Humbucker is a bonus let alone the 3 voicings, it was an easy decision, and I'm glad I made the change.
