Bring your keyboard playing to life with the EXP-2 pedal! What is Demo Gear?

At Sweetwater, we're so picky that what we call a "demo" is actually better than what most music retailers sell as "new" gear! Our gear hasn't endured hundreds of people a week plunking away at all the keyboards, fumbling through Stairway to Heaven on every guitar or playing with every fader and knob on a mixer or control surface.

What demo means to us is that we've had it out of the box, or maybe it was in a customer's hands for a few days and isn't "factory fresh" as a result. Every demo item we sell has Sweetwater's 2-year Total Confidence Coverage™ warranty, and has been tested and verified up to "new" specs by our factory-authorized technicians to make sure it's in perfect working order before we ship it to you.

When you buy a Demo item at Sweetwater, you get:
  • 2-year Total Confidence Coverage Warranty™!
  • Products inspected and tested by our factory-authorized techs, guaranteed to function like new (or better)!
  • FREE shipping on most items
  • Equipment that will MEET or EXCEED your expectations!

Don't know how I managed without one of these until now...

When I bought my Kross2 a few years back, I noted the collection of pedal controller ports on the back panel. At that time I purchased Korg's half damper pedal which has been amazing in its own right, but I figured someday I would add an expression pedal. Lately I have been doing more composition for short films, and producing mock-ups of the final score. Most of my VI's really shine when expression data is included in the performance. This pedal does that very well. Also I have more frequently needed to use my Kross2 as an alternate to the actual pipe organ I play weekly, and this pedal allows me to adjust my mod wheel with my foot, freeing both hands to play while employing an effect similar to the crescendo pedal of the organ.

I have read a couple of reviews in different places that have found this pedal to be extremely (i.e. "too") quick in response. While it does not have any slop in its range of motion (which makes the response feel immediate, and to some that could feel like too much), I have not found it's response curve to be unexpected or difficult to manage. It has very quickly become a regular part of my pedal lineup, as indispensable as the half damper pedal.

Not only Keyboard

Great pedal for guitar volume as well. I use it at church and it has a great sweep range.

Good Pedal!

The pedal is pretty good. Solid build. Works well. Has a great orange cord as well. I use it with my Korg KRONOS , and it works great. If you own a Korg keyboard, this is the pedal for you.

Great pedal for Korg gear

Got the Korg EXP-2 pedal to use with my Prologue 16. Works great, and fully compatible, as you would expect, for a unit that is made by Korg for use with its keyboards.

Prologue (and other synths) has lots of options for using the pedal. It can be used for expression, but the synth allows for lots of alternate settings when the pedal can control sweep or other effects. Range and sensitivity are good, providing lots of options for tweaking sound on the fly.

Others have commented on the amount of plastic in this pedal, but it has a similar build to expression pedals from Roland, Yamaha or Kurzweil that I have owned. It does have plastic and metal parts. But most all of them do. Unit it sturdy and stable and should last a while.

Works well with my X5 Korg

Just what I wanted. Did not realize needed to be programmed into key board to work. Once done worked great. Motion on pedal is a little stiff.
Music background: Use to be a pro. Now I play for myself.
