Best out there, hands down

I just opened the boxes on my (2) new ETX 35p speakers. All I can say is that these things are nothing but 1st class. Buy them, if you can find it within your budget. The quality, look, and sound coming out these is unbelievable. I plugged them into my Pioneer Rev-7 controller, and I was just amazed. I can't wait to pair these with my (2) ETX 18sp subs. Zach at Sweetwater gets me right every time I call on him.

ETX35P "The Real Deal!"

I've been pushing for new "mains" for several years to replace our Yamaha DSP15Ps, but the group was reluctant to "pony-up" the cash to get these. Finally everyone was in agreement that we needed to upgrade the mains, but wanted to just go with the ETX15Ps. I convinced them that the additional $200 per cabinet to get the ETX35Ps (3-way) was well worth the investment, so much so that I offered to pay the difference if they didn't like what they heard.

Needless to say after hearing them this weekend outdoors I didn't need to make that investment alone. These speakers are the real deal. They're loud, but not harsh. They're smooth and very clear.

We were also considering the QSC KW153s, but these have a lot more power to cover outdoor venues better. Plenty of headroom.

Now we're considering a second pair. All I can say is if you want professional concert sound at a great price, look no further. The EV ETX35Ps will not disappoint!!!

Music background: Professional Musician (more years than I care to reveal)

Absolutely Amazing!

I was debating between the QSC KW153 and these. I don't believe the other is a bad choice as both are clear as day. The EVs, however, sounded a bit warmer to me and louder! This is my first pair of 3 Way PA speakers and I have them paired with the EV EKX-18SP subs. Had I got the speakers first, I may have bought the ETX subs to match just for OCD purposes. ;) Nonetheless, both sound great together and are primarily being used for a 5 piece two guitar rock band.

Nice speakers.

These are nice quiet speakers, and powerful. No problems so far at a few months. We are using them in a church setting so I never really get a chance to see what they are fully capable of. But for us, sound quality was the goal, and we have that now. If you know how to mix, everything comes through nice and clear. The reason I gave them 4.5 stars is because of the owners manual. I found it very lacking in technical info. For example, 2000 watts. Over what bandwidth? At what distortion level? Is it mono? Bi-amped? Tri-amped? As far as current usage, I could only find one example at !/8th power, I believe, and I had to hunt for it. I have other quibbles about the manual but 'nuff said. Overall, nice, well built, good sounding speakers.
