Taylor ES-Go Passive Pickup

Easy install and great sound in a GS Mini Sapele. Honestly, I was shocked how warm and natural the pickup sounded going straight into a portable PA Speaker (JBL EON One Compact). The sound is completely usable "as is", but I added just a touch of both treble and bass, and it sounded stellar!! (I did have to turn the channel gain to max, and the master volume to 3/4 to have a full sound)
I actually had another GS Mini and ES-Go pickup when they originally came out over 10 years ago. Back then I remember it sounding very unnatural(like an electric guitar), with a ground loop "hum", and very low volume output. They must have updated or fixed these issues since then. I'm so glad I took a chance after reading all of the good reviews from recent purchasers.

Solid option with excellent customer service

The ES-go can be installed in under 3min and sounds perfectly fine, especially with an external preamp, reverb, compression, etc. It's certainly passable as-is too.

That said, sales engineer Payton Vieth came through for me in expediting the pickup to me after my original order was lost by USPS. The replacement pickup arrived in time for my rehearsal which heavily featured my new rubber bridge modded Taylor GS Mini. Service like this is going to keep me coming back

I honestly wasn't expecting the best sound from this unit, BUT! I'm very happy with it! Good volume, and good overall acoustic sound! Shouldn't have expected any less, it's Taylor product.
