For sure not a let down

If you are a Dt770 head like me then you will find that these are an awesome upgrade. If i could, id end up with some audeze LCD 7s but my pockets aren't that deep. So i decided to get these on short notice for an upcoming session in my studio so that the artist and myself are hearing very similar results. I'll be wearing the 1770s and the artist 770s. The idea being that they get a nice headphone that are smooth and i can pick out the little mid range and high end detail. Probably he first thing i noticed is that these are a much clearer headphone, a lot of detail can be heard. They honestly sound like I'm listing to my genelecs! When driven you can hear the low end without any distortion which blows my mind being a 250 ohm. My appollo x8 headphone amp isnt anything amazing but with these headphones, they work really well. If you are like me who is trying to make a living doing this but still in your growing stage of your career, these are a well worth it investment. I am biased though, literally been using the 770s for over 10 years so i'm really familiar with how this brand sounds. I honestly think that the price for these are a steal for quality you get.

Best reference cans I’ve ever owned

I had the DT770 pro cans prior to these and the difference is clearly noticeable. Beyerdymamic does a phenomenal job with their headphones but these are a step above anything I've ever owned. Guitars sound clean and pristine and mastering is much more accurate because of the quality of the components. Definitely recommend for any serious producer.

A cut above the rest

I'm went at this not so sure that my tired ears could really pick out a pair of headphones that could really help me hear the minute details in the music while not sounding artificially pumped up to give me a really balanced way to hear the music. I went to Sweetwater and began trying out all of the headphones that were closed back and over $. Closed back was necessary to prevent bleeding into a hot mic.At the end while there were a number of tunes playing that were not well suited for my critique and elimination there were some obvious failures. After a while I got down to 3 sets, then 2 and was really floored when a certain tune came on and I was hearing details present in these Beyerdynamics that you could not hear in my second choice. I ran them past my wife and she could also hear the difference. I can say without a doubt that in my opinion that these were the finest closed back headphones that Sweetwater had out on the demonstrator wall, bar none. Try them for yourself, you wont be disappointed.
