What is Demo Gear?

At Sweetwater, we're so picky that what we call a "demo" is actually better than what most music retailers sell as "new" gear! Our gear hasn't endured hundreds of people a week plunking away at all the keyboards, fumbling through Stairway to Heaven on every guitar or playing with every fader and knob on a mixer or control surface.

What demo means to us is that we've had it out of the box, or maybe it was in a customer's hands for a few days and isn't "factory fresh" as a result. Every demo item we sell has Sweetwater's 2-year Total Confidence Coverage™ warranty, and has been tested and verified up to "new" specs by our factory-authorized technicians to make sure it's in perfect working order before we ship it to you.

When you buy a Demo item at Sweetwater, you get:
  • 2-year Total Confidence Coverage Warranty™!
  • Products inspected and tested by our factory-authorized techs, guaranteed to function like new (or better)!
  • FREE shipping on most items
  • Equipment that will MEET or EXCEED your expectations!

Great Tele neck pickup

I've had an Area T pickup set in my Fender American Telecaster for about a year now, and they are my favorite pickups that I've ever had in this guitar. I generally do prefer single coil pickups, so I didn't expect to favor these as much as I do. They are super sweet, beautifully voiced, and versatile. For now, my search for Tele pickups is over. For reference, I have the regular, not the hot bridge pickup, and I play through a Fender Deluxe Reverb reissue. Tonal bliss.

No Compromise Noiseless Tele

Dropped this and Area T 615 Bridge pickup into my American Deluxe tele. I've had the guitar for 15 years or so and I've tried several different pickup sets. For a long time I was willing to live with some hum but lately that hum has really been bugging me, especially on high gain stuff and recording. But I didn't want to sacrifice any tone.

This pickup delivers the goods, sounds like a tele should but dead quiet, no hum. Blends well with the bridge pickup. Full and round, but cuts through.

Great sound....lots of treble

This neck pickup is clear, trebly, and loud. I usually hate neck pickups but use this now for tones I would typically reserve for bridge pickups. The sound is high output with clarity and bite. Installation was a breeze....no issues with routing depth for my Warmoth Jazzcaster. I paired this with a Dimarzio Super Distortion in the bridge. I recommend it for anyone that finds most neck pickups to be muddy or undefined.

Excellent Pickup!

I installed this in the neck position of my Fender Classic 60's Telecaster, and could not be happier with the result! 100% less hum than my stock neck pickup, and a much better tone!

dimarzio Area T and EJ ccustom humbucker

Beautiful sound. I pared this pickup with a EJ custom bridge pickup. I used a 250 k pot on the area T and a 500 k pot on the EJ, 3 way switch, 2 volumes, one tone. The area T has that wind cries Mary sound. Takes me back to when I was a little boy. I am 62 now and have been playing guitar since I was 10 years old. ( Fender guitars) THAT SOUND is in the area T pickup. With both pickups together, bridge EJ custom humbucker and areaT neck, the middle position is your normal parallel tele sound. Turn down bridge or neck pickup in the middle position just a little and you will get your 2 funky strat sounds, there is Peter Green type phasing going on, very nice. 5 nice sounds. The EJ custom pickup is clean punchy and sweet, also a beautiful sound. Both pickups remain clean and do not break up on the bottom end at all. If your looking for pure beautiful sounds and great overdriven lead sounds it doesn't get better than this. Thak you Sweetwater and Dimarzio. Tom. ( wiring must be switch first each pickup to separate sides of the switch, to volumes, to out, normal tone,69 thinline tele picguard, small tone control at bottom of cavity above output jack.)
