Problem Solver

I use Chauvet 4 bar and Tri bar lights. They are great for my application. However running DMX cables are many times a pain in some venues I play. In fact in one location I have had to run DMX cable through the rafters on the stage. So I invested in the Chauvet DJ D-Fi Hub to eliminate the DMX cable issues. This device works flawlessly. It save lots of time in set up and frustration running cables.

Saved so much time

I came across these as I was getting set to run lines to new lighting locations and with the help of my Sweetwater engineer, bought 3. One for transmitting and 2 for receiving. They were easy to setup and saved a tremendous amount of time running wires. I'm using them for simple dimming, no moving head fixtures, just plain ellipsoidals, so I can't attest to that type of use(that's why only 4.5, because I'm not using them fully), but to just get simple DMX out to different locations, I'm very pleased.

Chauvet DJ D-Fi Hub Wireless DMX

Was initially somewhat unsure about going wireless with DMX, but after my first opportunity to use them in a live situation, it was a great experience. No dropouts, no latency. Performed to expectations. I would recommend these to anyone that wants to go wireless, and become un-teathered to the cable !!

Problems with Zone 1 - doesn't work

Have this and the original Flarecon Air controller and meither of them work for zone 1. Tried them both with three different Chauvet D-Fi fixtures. 1) Freedom Par Tri-6, 2) Freedom Par Hex-4, 3) Freedom Par H1.

Controller just doesn't work for Zone 1. Zones 2-12 work fine with all fixtures. D-Fi channels 1-16 all work as well.

The lights go to a mid hue blue when the master fader is raised with other faders at 0. Tried them with two different DMX controllers - a Chauvet Obey 40 and a ADJ DMX OPERATOR 384 and results are the same. Zone 1 doesn't work properly.

RF range is good to 300' I've confirmed so far with solid control at that range.

Going to try a new style FlareCon Air2 controllers. If that works with DMX input I'll be happy.

Not recommended

Died after 3rd use... right before local high school's senior night. Not even a month old. Replaced in warranty, but lost the most important night for the senior class. Sweet water was great. But serious doubts to chauvet.
