Feedback suppression for monitors

My band and I have a rehearsal space that is equipped with a full concert PA system, including both mains and 6 monitor channels. We use a mix of wedge monitors and IEMs depending on each players personal preference, and the wedges, not surprisingly, are prone to feedback, especially at the volume levels we tend to play at! I'm using the Klark Teknik feedback suppressor in monitor channels 1 and 2, which is what the wedges are connected to. Along with the dbx eqs, an 8 channel PreSonus compressor/limiter/gate and a Lexicon reverb unit on auxes 7 and 8, we can achieve a great sound through both mains and monitors with NO feedback!

Does Its Job Great!

If you have an RTA-tuned speaker system, but can't squeeze a few more decibels of gain because of a few pesky feedback frequencies, this unit is definitely for you.
I've used this unit for about a month, and it's greatly helped by automatically locating and eliminating feedback in my system. You just turn it on, hit ACTIVE, then RESET, and gradually turn up the gain on your mic channels. As soon as you get feedback, the system will automatically apply a very narrow filter to reduce the feedback.
IMPORTANT: Do not overdo it. Do not keep turning up the gain until you get multiple low and high frequencies. At that point, you've gone to far, and you will find that you've cut out so many frequencies that you've affected the overal natural sound of your system. So, as with other effects, use with discretion.

Works wonders

We are using this in a band rehearsal space. Our vocal monitors were always just about even with the drums and guitars so a little quiet. Plugged this in, power on, hit reset (per instructions) turned up the monitors - no feedback! This thing is like magic, we were all thoroughly impressed.

Easy and Effective!

It works great! Easy initial setup, with all power Off, install it between your mixer and powered speakers then power On your mixer then your DF1000, hit Active then hit Reset, you're ready to perform. Quick test, just move your mic across the speakers at a distance where it used to feedback; you should not get feedback now. Enjoy!
