Amazing upgrade for your loud speaker

Had this gem installed in my fender hot rod deluxe 4 along with a tube mod (like the george benson amp) & replacement purple bulb & custom red drive knob to add a bit of pop. Can't say enough great stuff and now my amp sings!!

This is the one!!!!!!

I use this with different amps, XTC 101B, Redplate Magic Dust Duo, Matchless DC30 with a Stoneage 2x12.

This is the best speaker out there.


And if you see this review regarding the Neo , forget about it, I wrote that as a mistake.

Organic tone with stunning clarity!!

I already loved my Bogner 112C cabinet with a Creamback 65. Such a great all around speaker with plenty of power and organic feel (disclaimer: I may use that term often… because it means EVERYTHING! Lol. By my definition, NOT stiff and sterile, but raw and smooth… or something).
I hope it's ok to mean ruin names.
Reza Moosavi is a great amplifier reviewer, and does a lot of high end amps, pushing them from clean to loud and heavily driven… his demos always sound great, and it for me wondering what he uses for speakers, because it always sounds organic, but never falls apart. And there's an area of mid frequency that no matter how high the gain, it still sounds like a "guitar". Never machine-like or sludgy. So I had to inquire personally.
He responded very quickly, the Celestion Alnico Cream 90 was his go-to speaker… so now someday I gotta just put the money up and try one.
Holy Schmokes!! The first amp I played through it was a Friedman JEL-20. Right away you think "man that seems like overkill for just a 20 watt amp" BUT… that type of circuit in the Friedman world (along with the Twin Sister / Dirty Shirley thing) has a bold, huge lower end and articulate high range frequencies. They actually use a Redback 150 watt speaker in their Twin Sister combo. Another excellent speaker!! Anyway… the overall improvement in all frequencies across the board is stunning!! Totally articulate, never sterile, ultra tight at high volumes… and best of all ORGANIC!!
Chunky rhythm stuff is never out of control, and solo notes just fly off the fretboard with a perfect weight on the attack. It's a speaker the never gets in the way of what you're handing it, and lets the amp feed it everything it's got, never sounding tubby or brittle.

Creamy Love!

I've always had this love hate relationship. You know, the one that comes with an attitude and good looks! Every time I thought of getting rid of her, I just hung in there, hoping things would change. I thought maybe the problem was just me and I had to just keep proving to her that I was a real man and that the problem was just me. I thought if I could just talk to her in a certain way and tickle her fancy, she would give back everything I wanted from her. It's hard to explain, but I'm sure you know what I'm talking about. I always thought about finding another love, but after 27 years I just couldn't let myself do it. You know, cut her loose and start all over. So one day I decided to put her in a deep sleep. After doing so, I noticed a problem. She had these two old ceramic vintage 30's stuck in her box. I thought, WHAT! NO WAY! THIS CAN'T BE. I quickly scrambled to find a creamy Alnico solution! After doing so, she woke with a different disposition. We are now in Love again unlike anytime in our history.

Music background: To Old To Care

Worth the upgrade

Used this to replace a single 12 "celestion 65 watt creamback. No regrets about the purchase at all. The best way to describe the difference is even more of the celestion goodness. Its a nice warm thick sound. Testing with 70's Marshall 2203 100 watt head. It's a 95 watt 16 ohm speaker. The 4 12 cabinet is 120 watts 16 ohms. Lot less weight and no loss in tone. It dials in exactly the same as the 4 12 cabinet. Using a Marshall 1912 cabinet for this speaker. Sounds like heaven.
