This bass starts with a semi-hollowbody crafted from maple, giving you the best of acoustic and electrified worlds. A 3-piece maple neck accompanies the top and body of the Corsair, with a striking, silky smooth ebony fingerboard to round it all out. Simon Gallup has taken the warm, open, fiery tones of the Corsair and put his own spin on the instrument. To start, the semi-hollowbody benefits from a maple construction followed by a set 3-piece maple neck carved to a comfortable Thin “C” shape. Then, an ebony fingerboard snakes its way along the maple neck, offering you 20 jumbo-narrow frets at a 16-inch radius. A Graph Tech XL Black TUSQ nut, Tune-o-matic bridge with stopbar tailpiece, and Schecter light-weight tuners complete the Simon Gallup Corsair with superb intonation that’s ready for the stage.

It’s no secret that Gallup is fond of his Thunderbirds; in fact, a pair of Thunderbird EMG pickups sit within the body of this Corsair. These pickups dial their player into full, rich sound with plenty of punch and output. Their two ceramic and steel bars join forces to create that authentic passive touch, sensitivity, and feel. You’ll also have the benefit of an active preamp with 2-band EQ and controls for master volume and blend.
