Meet Your New Creative Catalyst

Looking for an amp that will make the most out of your practice and recording sessions? Line 6’s Catalyst 60 amplifier boasts a 60-watt, 1 x 12-inch construction, in addition to a multitude of features that make it a perfect home recording and practice companion. The Catalyst 60 offers six original amp designs that will deliver any tone you could ask for — from warm and round cleans to shrieking high-gain crunch. Also onboard are 18 built-in effects and a dedicated reverb section (with six distinct reverb types), offering near-unlimited tone-shaping possibilities. A power attenuator can adjust the Catalyst to half power, mute, or even 0.5 watts for late-night practice sessions without waking the neighbors. What’s more, the Catalyst series can also function as a 4-channel USB recording interface for silent practice and recording applications.

Built-in power attenuator and recording interface

When we tested this amp out at Sweetwater, we were most impressed with how well this amp excelled in home-recording environments. While the power attenuator is perfect for practice, the half-power and 0.5-watt settings are also ideal for miking up at reasonable volumes. If you’d rather record without making any noise, the Catalyst also doubles as a 4-channel USB recording interface, in addition to an XLR line out.

Take complete control of your tone

Whether you’re jamming, recording, or practicing, the Catalyst functions as a versatile tonal toolbox to perfectly capture whatever sound you’ve been dreaming up. In addition to its 6-pack of original amp designs, the Catalyst also features two dedicated sections for reverb and boost. The boost circuit is optimized for each amplifier type, capturing tones from subtle overdrive grit to all-out crunch. Are you a reverb fanatic? The Catalyst’s six distinct reverb types are sure to keep you satisfied; however, if they're not enough, Line 6 has included another 18 versatile effects for brave sonic exploration!

Line 6 Catalyst 60 1 x 12-inch Combo Amplifier Features:

  • 60W, 1 x 12-inch combo amplifier that excels both onstage and in the studio
  • 6 original amp designs that cover tones ranging from warm cleans to high-gain metal
  • Dedicated reverb section with 6 distinct reverb types
  • 18 effects deliver near-unlimited sonic versatility
  • Boost section that’s optimized for each different amp setting
  • Built-in attenuator with half-power and 0.5-watt settings; mute function for quiet at-home and recording use
  • Built-in 4-channel USB audio interface with XLR line out for easy home recording
  • Effects loop, power amp, and MIDI (DIN or USB) inputs
  • Can be paired with the Catalyst edit app on desktop and mobile

What is Demo Gear?

At Sweetwater, we're so picky that what we call a "demo" is actually better than what most music retailers sell as "new" gear! Our gear hasn't endured hundreds of people a week plunking away at all the keyboards, fumbling through Stairway to Heaven on every guitar or playing with every fader and knob on a mixer or control surface.

What demo means to us is that we've had it out of the box, or maybe it was in a customer's hands for a few days and isn't "factory fresh" as a result. Every demo item we sell has Sweetwater's 2-year Total Confidence Coverage™ warranty, and has been tested and verified up to "new" specs by our factory-authorized technicians to make sure it's in perfect working order before we ship it to you.

When you buy a Demo item at Sweetwater, you get:
  • 2-year Total Confidence Coverage Warranty™!
  • Products inspected and tested by our factory-authorized techs, guaranteed to function like new (or better)!
  • FREE shipping on most items
  • Equipment that will MEET or EXCEED your expectations!

Chicken Skin right outta the box!

I can't honestly give a full review because I've been playing through it for a month on manual. I haven't even explored the presets. I've been pondering a small combo amp for awhile. Thank You Sweetwater for having so many demos available to view with your products. Thanks to Doug Carr and Nick Bowcott, I pulled the trigger! If it's good enough for a Grim Reaper guitarist,,, Then I'm sold! I was raised in a bluegrass family but at age 9 recieved a Kiss 8 track. Age 13 brought me to See You In Hell!!! Love the amp. Thank You Sweetwater.

60 watt line 6 catalyst

This is really a beautiful amp. I've only had it for one day but I am extremely impressed by its simplicity and deliverance. I ordered the amp on a Thursday night and received it by Sunday afternoon. That is fantastic customer service. Thank you Brad Jahn. I love professional service. This amplifier delivers. I have the 75 w spider amp and a 120 watt spider amp. I love the simplicity of this app. And the fact that it is a lot lighter than the other ones. The tone is tremendous. And the fact that it is much lighter than the others at 25 lb making it easier for an old man like me to make it. I am just learning her but from the start I loved what I heard. They call it a practice amp but I call it a gigging amp. Kudos all the way around. I just started experimenting with her this morning but I'm going to continue of course. And give an update.
Music background: 50 plus years.

An.Amazing Amp.

I bought this amp for my guitar player friends so they don't have to schlep their amps when they come over. I'm a bass player and really don't play guitar. Recently I asked a very good guitar player friend to come over and give it a workout. I couldn't believe how good it sounds. It's versatil and loud enough to gig with. It's also light. Now the icing on the cake: the price… Unreal.
Music background: Bass fiend and dabbler in keys, drums, and voice.

Catalyst 60

I like this amp. But note 2 comparisons. 1. The Android version of Catalyst Edit is an incomplete version of the Windows version. The Windows version can rename presets. The Android version can not. The Windows version saves presets to files file managers can find. The Android version saves presets to files file managers can not find. Further these files are not removed when the Android app is uninstalled. However, the Android version, with the right cabling, can be used from a phone on the amp. 2. Unlike the Catalyst 100 , this amp, the Catalyst 60, lacks a MIDI DIN. Its MIDI is by USB only. But it is 6 lbs lighter. This amp works well with the (now legacy) M9 & a couple of expression pedals. But, as in a Line 6 video, the HX Effects (an M9 superset) can tightly integrate with the Catalyst 100, using that amp's MIDI DIN to, in particular, act as a MIDI controller.
Music background: Long time Jazz Fusion player.

Most of the guitarists here at Sweetwater remember well the first time we heard a Line 6 POD - that strange kidney-bean-shaped gadget that totally rocked the guitar world. As one of the world's largest Line 6 dealers, we've had a first-row seat to every groundbreaking release they've come out with. In fact, many of us gig out with Helix, their latest multi-effects pedal, or their modeling amps every week. What's more, Line 6 brings the same innovative approach to their live sound equipment that's made their guitar gear so popular. Whether you're looking for the perfect guitar rig to cover a wide range of styles or fantastically affordable digital wireless, ask your Sales Engineer about Line 6.
