An All-time Epiphone Classic Since 1961

Arguably Epiphone’s most iconic guitar, the mighty Casino’s lush and dynamic full-hollowbody tone has graced countless classic recordings since its inception in 1961. It’s served as a standard-issue 6-string during the British Invasion, a blues standby, a Britpop phenom, and an indie/shoegaze darling throughout its long tenure. In other words, the Beatles may have put the Casino on the map, but this guitar’s inherent versatility has made it a cross-genre favorite ever since. This iteration of the Casino captures the model in all its ’60s glory, complete with the model’s signature fully hollow body, comfortable SlimTaper ’60s “C” mahogany neck, and a sleek Indian laurel fingerboard studded with eye-catching parallelogram inlays. Next, a pair of Epiphone Pro P-90 pickups empower the casino with clear highs, a biting midrange, and a defined bottom end — all the hallmarks of a top-class vintage-style P-90. Lastly, a resonance-enhancing diamond trapeze tailpiece, a LockTone Tune-o-matic bridge, and handsome Epiphone Vintage Deluxe tuners provide a rock-solid reliability worthy of the Casino’s long-standing workhorse legacy.

Crisp, resonant layered maple hollowbody

While it may look strikingly similar to its Gibson and Epiphone semi-hollowbody siblings, the Casino’s distinguishing feature is that it’s a fully hollowbody instrument. This composition results in a far different tone than your typical semi, giving you much of the same lush tonal resonance found on the Casino’s Epiphone forebearers — namely, upscale jazz boxes. In fact, the Casino’s formidable acoustic volume has long made it a favorite among Sweetwater guitarists who prefer to practice unplugged. But, more importantly, when you plug in your Epiphone Casino, you’ll be graciously rewarded with a sound packed to the brim with exceptional depth, warmth, and dynamism.

P-90s deliver bite, grit, and single-coil shimmer

Boasting the clarity of a single-coil with the heft of a humbucker, the inimitable P-90 is one of the most time-tested designs in the electric guitar realm. From straight-ahead jazz to bellowing blues licks and iconic riffs in the rock music canon, P-90s are one of the most tonally versatile designs in the book. This guitar’s dual Epiphone Pro P-90s wonderfully capture the same chiming highs, forward midrange, and round, powerful low end that served as the Casino’s tonal hallmark in its ’60s heyday.

Speedy neck profile

A far cry from Gibson and Epiphone’s chunky ’50s-style neck profiles, this Epiphone Casino’s compact ’60s “C” neck profile facilitates speed, comfort, and slick playability. It’s constructed from a mahogany foundation for a sturdy feel and warm response, then topped with a smooth Indian laurel fingerboard that beams with iconic parallelogram inlays. It’s a fitting nod to the Casino in its most iconic form, with a look and feel that might as well be straight out of the mid-’60s!

Epiphone Casino Hollowbody Electric Guitar Features:

  • Epiphone’s most iconic archtop guitar, made famous by the likes of the Beatles (Paul, George, and John all played one), Howlin’ Wolf, Keith Richards, Noel Gallagher, and countless others
  • Mahogany neck carved into a fast-feeling SlimTaper ’60s “C” profile
  • Smooth Indian laurel fingerboard studded with parallelogram inlays and finished off with an easy-playing 12-inch radius
  • Dual Epiphone Pro P-90 pickups give you all the chime, bite, and powerful low-end response that’s served as the P-90’s sonic signature since the ’40s
  • Layered maple full hollowbody design imparts a ringing resonance and exceptionally open feel to your every note
  • Rock-solid LockTone Tune-o-matic bridge, old-school diamond trapeze tailpiece, and Epiphone Vintage Deluxe tuners

The Best Hidden Gem In A LONG Time

I love all guitars. I've owned guitars ranging from cheap/budget-friendly Squiers to Fender Custom shops and Signature Artist Models — all of which were fantastic in their own way; and all of which, however, are now gone. Guitars come and go… well to me at least haha. Ive learned along the way that more expensive guitars and bigger, "better" brand name guitars aren't always better.

I've always been on the hunt for "The" guitar for every guitar type category: Strats, 335s, 330s, SGs, Teles, etc. I have my dream Strat, which is actually just a simple first edition, made in 2011, Squier Classic Vibe 60s Stratocaster (alder/rosewood version) that's been partscastered to my exact liking — although it still retains some of its original mojo from the factory. This Casino, though… mannnn, oh, man. I'm very sure (convinced — rather) that I've found "The" 330-style guitar for me. It's so simple yet so effective… and the best part? I didn't need to change a single thing on mine (besides swapping out the knobs for aesthetic reasons). I "house" mine in an Epiphone E519 hardshell case. The two are meant to be together, and this Casino is meant for me. Hands down the best 330-esque guitar I've ever had the pleasure of playing and now owning!

Absolutely Amazing Quality

The Chinese made Epiphone Casino plays and sounds as good as any electric six string I own or have played. I buy US or German made instruments almost exclusively, but I took a chance on this Casino.
The closest guitar I have to it is a Gibson Custom Shop ES 335. The Casino plays as easy/fast and sounds every bit as good as the ES 335. I would not have believed this if I didn't compare them side-by-side through the same Fender Twin Reverb amp. Straight out of the box from Sweetwater, the intonation and low action were perfect. The Epiphone in the photo has the "Gibson" strings that came with it; the Gibson has brand new D'Addario's. I am a guitarist, not a technician.
I cannot understand how Epiphone can make and sell such a quality instrument that sells for $. My local guitar shop friends, all with many years of experience with all makes and ages of guitars, tell me that the Epiphone likely has cheaper hardware than the Gibson. Logically that makes sense, but I discern no difference other than the Gibson weighs more. I also bought the recommended hardshell Epiphone case for $. This case fits the Casino perfectly and is considerably
superior to the rectangular hardshell cases I have had to buy in the past for about $, because some other guitars came with only a "gig bag". This Epiphone Casino has exceeded any expectations I could dream of. Now I'm wondering what it would be like to play a US made Casino?
Music background: Professional bassist, fair to good guitarist.

Love it

As a guitar player and a huge Beatles fan, I felt obligated to purchase this guitar. It is more than just looks. It gets me the sounds that I want. The neck feels comfortable to me, and the finish is smooth. Anyone that likes classic rock or just regular rock should at least try it out for themselves.

Epiphone Casino, a name everyone should know.

I will honestly say, this guitar blew away any expectations I had, it has growl, it has punch, but it also has soft, and mellow. Whether it be a smooth jazz, punk, R&B, The Beatles, The Stones, 50's era through the 2000's it does everything.

Fantastic guitar at any price.

I bought this about 3 months ago, and so far, it's become my "go to" guitar. The playablity is outstanding, and it sounds killer. The P90s are as advertised, and just the sounds that I can get coming out of it, without having to layer effects make it so easy to play different genres of music without having to heavily modify your tone.

Another thing about it is the looks. I was worried that it might not look so great with just the natural finish, but it's beautiful.
