The Easy Way to Mic Up Your Cajon

Are you struggling when miking up your cajon? If so, you need this microphone holder from Schlagwerk. Its hook-and-loop fitting makes it easy to position a mic anywhere on your cajon's body. This handy adapter works with most standard microphone clamps and goosenecks, thanks to a 3/8" screw thread.

When you're serious about the cajon, you're ready for a Schlagwerk

Modern cajonists owe a great debt to Schlagwerk Percussion. Not only did Schlagwerk popularize the cajon as we know it with the help of Freddie Santiago 30 years ago, but Schlagwerk also introduced the idea of using snare wires to simulate the classic buzz — usually the result of split plywood — heard in these former instruments. Every premium Schlagwerk cajon is still handmade in Germany with real German quality and innovation — just as it was when owner Gerhard Priel began building temple blocks in his garage in 1982. When you're ready to take your playing to the next level, Sweetwater stands behind Schlagwerk cajons.

Cajon not included.

Works great!

I play my cajon on a stand, so my mic has been on a short mic stand with the mic up in the hole. If you play a cajon like that, you know they tend to walk a little. So, after years of aggravation, and also years of looking for the right fix for it, I decided to take a chance on this bracket, and man I am so glad I did. It works perfectly!

I did not need a thread adapter at all. It worked perfectly out of the box (I had even bought an adapter in anticipation). Maybe somebody finally wised up? I also have a cajon port installed, and it works perfectly with it, something I was concerned about. Btw, the cajon port is the next step in getting a better sound. What an improvement.

I also went from using a 57 to buying an Audix D4 and man I'm so glad I did. Everybody I have played with since can really hear the difference. My cajon is not really filling every venue with thump. I also used a 57 on top to capture the snap.

Long story short, I'm thinking of trying another bracket on top to mount the 57 so I don't have to use a mic stand at all.

Hey, well worth trying. You can always sent it back....

Simply works

This adapter is a very simple and reliable method of insuring proper placement of the mic on a cajon. (make sure you also purchace the thread adapter)

Great Product, Works as Advertised

This cajon mic holder is excellent. ***NOTE*** All the people who have written negative comments about needing a thread adapter evidently have not read closely enough about the product. It is made in Germany and uses the thread size that is pretty much standard in Europe, not in the USA. Therefore, it is necessary to buy a thread adapter (also sold by Sweetwater). You should also consider buying a Shure SM57 for your cajon. I noticed a difference between the SM57 & SM58. The SM57 is an economical choice. But I also concede there many different mics that will work well with a cajon.

clever idea

I am using this on a Mienl bongo cajon with a Shure drum mic and it works very well. Much better than trying to keep the sound hole pointed at a stationary mic.
