Better in person. Loved this kit

Wow. I chose this kit in a hurry because i was in call with Benjamin that was helping me with some stock troubles. This kit might not have the best name but is stunning beautiful for its price. I fell in love with this drums. And loved it more when I saw its a rare kit to see on Any social network!! Hehe. Drumheads aren't good, you should upgrade them ASAP. The Tom holders look squared in picture but it's very nice and round in person, it's just the perspective. The toms really complement each other, the 12 inch Can cover up the 10 inch (having in mind the other Tom is a 16inch). I recommend this kit, I did some research on other drums on this price point and I don't regret the purchase. The only downside of this kit is that you can't find (as I know) toms to buy them separately. And I recommend to grease up ALL the kit with baseline because the shells arrive very dry and a single touch Can damage the shell. But after all, this kit was meant for me.

Beautiful drum kit

My Sweetwater sales engineer Jeff Bohan gave me great advice and guided me towards this drum kit. The black stardust finish is really nice in person. Under lights it really sparkles. Absolutely a beautiful kit with pro quality look. The lugs, rims, and mounts all seem to be good quality. The drums are light weight and easy to set up. I ordered some Evan's heads for the batters because I prefer 2 ply heads. With coated g2s these drums really sound great and resonant. They tuned up quickly and I was playing in no time. The snare has a great amount of crack and outstanding sensitivity. Usually shell pack shares are not that great, but I actually found that I liked this one. The toms sound very musical and I was able to tune them at various pitches with satisfactory results. The bass drum is my favorite drum. It is an absolute cannon. It sounds great wide open if you want a boomy kick. With some muffling you can achieve a really nice thump with lots of low end. If I had any criticism of this set it would be the 12" tom suspension mount. It's not horrible but I wish they would have attached it to more than 2 tention rods. The mount has a rubber piece that rests against the drum shell. I think it would have been better if there was no shell contact at all. Even with these issues it still seems to work just fine. I love this kit and would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a new kit. Thanks Jeff for all your help with my order! This is why I only shop Sweetwater. No other music store provides your level of service.

Extremely Pleased!!

Started playing some live events with a few of my co-workers and wanted something that sounded better than the used $100 Yamaha kit I found in the classifieds. I knew I wanted maple and a simple 4-piece set-up but didn't want to spend a fortune. ...seemed like a great deal compared to some of the other line-ups that Gretsch had to offer so I went with this. After I set this up I realized just how much better it sounded than the used kit I had. This thing was BOOMY (especially the kick!!) and was exactly what I was looking for. The black stardust finish is a bonus... It looks amazing with any type of light you shine at it... the whole thing just pops! Completely satisfied with this purchase and I think I'll be holding onto this kit for a long long time! Great service as always from Sweetwater, thanks guys!
