Envelop Your Entire Audience in Sound

Want to envelop your entire audience in a gorgeous panorama of sound? The CDL12 will make it happen. PreSonus describes this hybrid point source/line array speaker as "wide peripheral vision for your ears," and at Sweetwater, we agree! Its eight 2" drivers disperse high frequencies at an astonishing 120° horizontally, and if that's not enough, then you can build a 6-speaker array of CDL12s for symmetrical 120° x 120° dispersion. Experience a thunderous low-end thump, thanks to this speaker's 12" woofer, while 1,000 watts of Class D power exhibit remarkable headroom, explosive SPLs, and incredible dynamics. The CDL12 features built-in Dante connectivity, along with an impressive range of mounting options.

Constant directivity provides consistent, coherent sound

The CDL12's patent-pending design combines the best of point source and line array technology. It houses eight 2" drivers that are aligned in a segmented circular-arc high-frequency array. These transducers are centered around a single 12" woofer. The output from these state-of-the-art drivers travels on the same acoustic axis, ensuring that the pattern always radiates from the center of the CDL12. And when you stack multiple enclosures, the entire array maintains consistent center-to-center spacing among all the high- and low-frequency drivers, creating a seamless transition from one cabinet to the next. It also minimizes comb filtering, maintaining a controlled 120° horizontal coverage pattern, while the vertical coverage is expanded by 20° per speaker. That means a 6-speaker array of CDL12s delivers unprecedented dispersion of up to 120° vertically and 120° horizontally!

Customizable array presets for easy deployment

Whether you're using it alone or in an array, setting up the CDL12 is a breeze, thanks to its onboard presets on the rear panel. If you're building a larger array, then you simply connect each speaker to a standard LAN network and take command with Worx Control software running on your Mac or PC. With Worx Control, you benefit from speaker-management tools like compression, limiting, 800ms of delay, an 8-band EQ, and more. Performance monitoring indicators display temperature and signal levels remotely. You can use Worx Control to manage your speakers individually or as a group.

Built-in Dante connectivity supplies near-zero latency and synchronization

The CDL12 boasts built-in Dante connectivity — a feature not found on many speakers in this class. Besides giving you near-zero latency and effortless synchronization, this multichannel digital media networking technology is compatible with an endless range of equipment, making it easy to integrate the CDL12 into just about any installed sound environment. And it does it over a single locking Ethernet connection!

What can I say? AMAZING

These speakers are by far the best I have every heard. I come from 20+ years in the live sound industry. I have done all kinds of things from concerts to church sound. These are the best. I personally own 4. I use in a LR FOH stack that sounds amazing. I was reluctant to buy them until I heard them. I was afraid the off axis response would be all over the place. Boy was I wrong. Very even transition from on to off axis. Almost nothing comes out of the back of these. The vocals are smooth and present. The instruments have just the correct amount of attack. The low end transients are even great without a sub. The onboard DSP is everything you need as far as processing is concerned. Boy do these things get loud and when they do, they sound great. Most line arrays I have heard sound harsh at high levels. These do not. These sound smooth. What More can I say except I with I owned 2 more. Thank you Presonus. Keep up the good work.

CDL12 and CDL18

As our Church Production Team was searching for a speaker source we discovered Presonus CDL12 and CDL18's. Our team was already using Presonus products (Sound Board and Stage box) and we were finally ready to take the next step to update our speaker system. After an extensive amount of time spent researching online, we wanted to be very diligent with the budget we were working in and also to make sure we were getting our best value for our money. The chairman of the production team called Presonus and spoke with "Richard Gaspard" After this conservation, we, the production team at our church was set up with a "In Person Demo" at another church. The Pastor tagged along and was quite impressed. As were we!! So we made the purchase and here's what we went with. 4 CDL 12 and 2 CDL 18's. Our set up is 2 CDL12's and a CDL18 on each side and there both flown. Our Building is 30 feet high, 60 feet wide and 80 feet deep with STUCCO walls. The building is about 100 years old. After a professional installation and tuning from the same i would say we run the speakers at about 45-50 percent. (And there is absolutely no slap) We, or at least the production team, well we like it loud and the sound is amazing. There are no "Hot Spots'. It's the same level of sound right under the speakers as well as at the back of the room. If you were to put on a blind fold and go into the room you would not be able to locate the speakers. Can't say enough about them. This is a FACT, If you are a church and want to spend your money with a God believing, Jesus following business that does nothing but to give the Church a REAL product for it's money. PRESONUS is the place. These guys are the real deal. If your in North Georgia and want to come listen. Cross Roads of Hartwell. I would be excited for you to hear them!!!!!

Never going back

I'm not an audio head and I can tell the difference with these. I got 4 of these to replace my existing set up and we have been able to fill the rooms we've been in with incredibly clear and enjoyable sound. Using these has allowed us to use fewer speakers overall to achieve the sound we need in some very large and unusual spaces. We are a portable program and the set up and tear down is fairly simple and when we plug it all in it just works. I will be buying at least 2 more and have already had multiple people ask me where they could get their own set.

Nothing like this on the market

I was looking at the QSC KLA Speakers and wanted something that I could use and expand with in the future. I thought the design of the CDL12 was really unique and finally got to hear them on a friend's gig. They were some of the most musical sounding speakers I have ever heard so I decided to get a set for my band. We typically play in rooms for around 250-500 people, mostly private gigs. These cover a room so well and the vocal clarity without harshness was something I noticed immediately. The CDL's are plenty loud to cover the type of rooms we play and every once in a while when we have larger gigs, I can borrow a set from my friend and double the system. I intend to get another set of these later this year.

Sweetwater and PreSonus go way back, and that makes a lot of sense. Like Sweetwater, PreSonus is largely staffed by active musicians, songwriters, live sound techs, and engineers, and like Sweetwater, their culture shows up in everything they do. Early on, PreSonus broke ground by offering super-affordable audio interfaces that brought quality recording to home studio engineers everywhere. In the following years, we've been with them as they introduced a powerful, artist-friendly DAW, groundbreaking digital mixers, and more - all products we at Sweetwater use ourselves. One thing that's never changed, even as PreSonus has branched out into new territory, is that they've always done everything possible to provide you with the best value, and we're proud to stand by their products.
