Guild Baritone Acoustic with Pristine, Authentic Tone

Get rich, full low tone with the BT-240E Baritone Acoustic-electric Guitar from Guild. This F-Jumbo body acoustic features rosewood back and sides with a solid Sitka spruce top for a stunning blend of low end and midrange that also delivers incredible projection and giant volume — unplugged or amplified. Featuring two extra strings, the BT-258E is tuned to B-E-a-A-d-D-F#-B — five steps down from standard tuning. When strummed or picked, this deep-voiced acoustic makes a wonderful accompaniment guitar for almost any ensemble, adding a unique sonic dimension to any mix. A mahogany neck with pau ferro fingerboard offers outstanding playability and response. And when you plug in, a Guild/Fishman Sonitone GT-1 with volume and tone controls ensure pristine, authentic baritone acoustic tone.

Guild/Fishman Sonitone GT-1: full, dynamic tone

The Guild/Fishman GT1 with Sonicore pickup in the BT-258E is a wonderfully designed system that naturally and fully translates the acoustic tone of this fine instrument. The sound is full and dynamic onstage, and it pairs great with a microphone for recording parts at home or in the studio. Volume and tone controls are mounted directly in the soundhole for easy access and a look that won’t detract from your guitar’s natural beauty.

Fine appointments enhance the BT-258E

Guild outfitted the BT-258E with its legendary scalloped X-bracing. This innovative pattern uses crisscrossing, overlapped braces in the body that support better resonance and sustain — as well as promote longevity and durability. In addition, a genuine bone and nut saddle along with a pau ferro bridge support overall resonance and tone. At Sweetwater, we appreciate these added fine appointments for the subtle enhancements they add to the Guild BT-258E.

a creative edition to any guitar collection

This guitar will bring you songs and broaden the sonic spectrum when jamming with others. Be warned, it takes more strength to play than a standard 6-string steel; I sometimes play it for the workout. If you compose, it'll bring you tunes. The first time I jammed with my son (him on a standard 6-string), we quickly realized you can simply play the same chord progression for instant perfect 4th harmonies. I attached a vid of it plugged in with some reverb and chorus (perhaps a bit too much) on a fingerstyle version "You Can't Always Get What You Want" in A.

Guild 8 String Baritone Acoustic/Electric

Love my new Guild Baritone. What a fun guitar to play with a whole new sound! It really drives my creativity in a new direction. I love how the middle strings are paired with strings an octave apart which gives a much richer sound but allows single strings at the high and low end. I have had so much fun playing unplugged that I haven't plugged it in yet but I certainly look forward to hearing the sound amplified. Totally worth it!

Trifecta of Guild

Just received the BT258E Baritone 8 string. Got the Demo and was waiting for a heads up when one became available. Alas, I dropped in and behold the demo was on sale, yes the pic on the Sweetwater sight is now mine. Needs to go to one of our fine Luthiers here for a true set up, a slight curve in the neck, but it will be fine. Plays well stays in tune. Great guild sound. Now it completes the set of a 6-string 260E, the 8-string BT258E, and the 1976 12-string F412BL. And the rest of the family. Great low end now I can record some different sounds, must experiment, take a risk, you just don't know what your going to get. This will be fun.
Music background: Still learning after all these years; always.

Tremendous instrument!

Love at first strum! Love that rich throaty growl. My only complaint is the string height at the nut is pretty high from the factory, making it a little tough to play at first.

I've named her Greta.

My birthday surprise!

I have been wanting a Guild baritone guitar for a while and my wife surprised me with a BT-258 for my 69th birthday. It is a beautiful guitar and has a beautiful tone. It has been a pleasure to play. The setup was great, however, the bridge is a bit high for my playing style. I am going to reduce the height of the bridge and then it will be perfect for me. It is also very nice to have a built-in humidifier in the Guild case. Love it!
