The BLX4R is a surprising performer. It may reside on the lower end of Shure’s product line, but it doesn’t perform like a low end mic system. I operate four of these on a regular basis. The sound quality is the same as wired SM58. It is true that in locations with crowded RF spectrums, digital mics are the way to go for better RF filtering, and as the RF spectrum becomes more and more crowded, I will upgrade to the Shure QLX-D series from Sweetwater, but right now I’m very satisfied with the BLX4R with SM58 mics. I use a distribution system for the mic receivers and I have various antenna types that I use depending on the RF environment. In crowded RF environments I deploy the RF Venue Spotlight antenna from Sweetwater which does an amazing job at rejecting unwanted RF Interference. I’m short. The BLX4R is an incredible performer!
