Audiophile-quality analog signal path
Many professional D/A converters fall short when it comes to the analog side of the process, providing you with excellent digital accuracy but unnaturally sterile sound. That's what inspired Burl Audio to develop the unique signal path in the BDA4. Like the B32 Vancouver mix bus, it includes a BX5 nickel core output transformer on every channel. You also get a proprietary BOPA14 op-amp and a capacitor-less Class A analog signal path with discrete transistors. The BDA4 supplies you with both clarity and the extremely high headroom required to respond smoothly to highly dynamic audio. When we witnessed the BDA4 in action here at Sweetwater, we heard "natural" not "digital."

The Burl Audio B80 Mothership represents an innovative way of approaching digital conversion. You can create a custom, modular converter system with up to 80 channels of D/A conversion or up to 40 channels of A/D conversion! The B80 Mothership is a 4U, 10-slot empty chassis into which you can install any combination of Burl A/D and D/A converter cards. A 1U power supply is included, providing ample power for the high-headroom, low-noise converters.
