A Versatile Acoustic-electric for Stage and Studio

The Seagull Artist CW EQ is in a class all its own. This premium cutaway acoustic-electric features mahogany back and sides and a solid spruce top to deliver a full, balanced, lively tone. A gorgeous mahogany neck with Richlite fingerboard offers players of all styles wonderful playability and response. And for times when you need to plug in without reaching for a mic, onboard LR Baggs Anthem electronics with preamp and EQ deliver outstanding amplified acoustic tone, giving you sound and level controls right from the stage. Step up to a new stage in acoustic performance with the Seagull Artist CW EQ acoustic-electric guitar from Sweetwater.

Seagull's quest for tone yields a better-playing, better-sounding guitar

Robert Godin's tireless search for a better guitar has created quite a few innovations that go into every model Seagull makes. The Artist CW EQ's solid spruce top is pressure tested for rigidity and stiffness to ensure maximum harmonic vibration. The unique compound-curved top adds structural integrity to the guitar and allows for thinner bracing. And thanks to its onboard LR Baggs Anthem electronics, you'll be able to coax great acoustic tones while plugged in. Take it from acoustic players at Sweetwater: the Artist CW EQ is equipped to give you years of great performance.

Innovative neck construction and mounting delivers killer playability and tone

Seagull has also taken extra care to ensure that the Artist CW EQ's neck helps create a satisfying playing experience. Seagull's integrated set-neck construction gives your guitar the sound you want and the stability you need in a performing guitar. This system provides stable and consistent action that also reduces warping and twisting. Thanks to this integrated system, the Artist CW EQ's neck pitch is perfectly set. Seagull's design assures optimized sound and playability with these and other innovations found throughout the entire Seagull line.

LR Baggs Anthem electronics

The LR Baggs Anthem pickup in the Artist CW EQ is a standout among acoustic pickups, winning awards and player approval all over the world. The Anthem features LR Baggs' patented TRU•MIC technology which combines a proprietary condenser mic with their renowned Element pickup. The result is a warm, natural acoustic tone that sounds so pure you would swear it was miked.

Handcrafted for more than a quarter of a century

For over 25 years, all Seagull guitars — from the S6 Original models to the Maritime models to the top-of-the-line Artist series instruments — have been handcrafted in a small village in the Eastern Townships of Quebec. About half of the population of the town works at the Seagull factory using locally sourced woods to create these exquisite guitars. You'll love the attention to detail, the quality tonewoods, and Seagull's commitment to making the best guitar possible. Grab a Seagull Artist CW EQ and experience the difference for yourself.

Stays in tune better than any guitar I know

Great guitar. Gorgeous sound and feel. Love the neck 1.72 is a good feel, very fast, narrower than the original seagulls. It also plays in tune all the way up the neck and stays in tune. It actually stays in tune better than any guitar I know. The electronics are perfect presenting a very warm sound plugged in. The harmonics are fantastic, and in tune. The cutaway allows access to all notes for lead guitar. For the money, this is a very good choice.

Love, love love it!

This guitar is a real beauty with a gorgeous full sound and sustain but a wide neck to accommodate my "fat" finger tips.

Good Value

Mine arrived in perfect condition. This was my first Seagull and I just compared it to my new Taylor K24ce and Martin DC16-GTE (20 years old). All three sound great to me. My Taylor has the brightest midrange and my Seagull and Martin have pretty similar, but good, lows. The pickup on the Seagull is almost hidden, which I like. Overall, the Seagull is a good value, especially when compared to more expensive guitars.

Misrepresented

I'll start with you don't get the TRIC case/gig bag that is advertised. Instead you a get floppy gig bag that is mediocre in protection. Received two now that were in the condition of a demo floor model, and am starting to wonder if that's what Seagull is allowing to go to market. They were both covered in surface scratches and swirl marks as if polished by an inadequate dirty rag, or played for hours by someone who didn't realize their jacket zipper was rubbing all over the back. Tuners are also stiff and cheap feeling. "Attention to detail" is not how I would describe the condition these come in brand new. They do however sound good, and play nicely. It's a shame they're overshadowed by what seems to either be bad QC issues, or being mishandled by an employee before they're shipped to you.
