The JHS Angry Charlie V3 channel drive pedal captures the essence of the legendary Marshall JCM800, turning your guitar amp into a sonic flamethrower. Tried 'em all, this is the one!

I gig semi-professionally and teach guitar. Over the years I have tried every type of overdrive and distortion: DS-2, Plimsoul, Tube Screamer, Crunchbox, SD-1, Dark Matter, Blues Driver, and plenty of clones to boot. If you're looking for the "Marshall in a Box" sound, this one is the ticket. With the Bass, Middle, and Treble tone stack, you can dial in exactly what you want. I was gigging with it last weekend and had accidentally turned the bass all the way up (I usually have it around 11 o'clock). It STILL sounded great. I don't think there is a bad sound in this box! I love the way this pedal gets a super saturated, dirty and harmonically rich sound but still leaves plenty of clarity when playing chords. I am currently using mine with a 9V charger and it's already got plenty of headroom. I imagine it would have even more if I used an 18V adapter.

I can't recommend this pedal highly enough; it is SO worth the money. Shout out to Matt Kreager and the good folks at Sweetwater for the fantastic service, quick delivery, and great deal

Music background: Semi-professional - 20 years

A Perfect MIAB Pedal with a Very Wide Gain Range

The gain range is very flexible ranging from low gain to hairy high gain. The 3-band EQ section is the power of this pedal. The frequency ranges are well positioned and can help you get all types of metal or rock sounds out of this pedal. I used JHS @AT model before this, but switched to Angry Charlie since the EQ flexibility (especially the MID control) is necessary when playing with different backline amps.

Incredible pedal

I have tried many many dirt boxes over the years and this one definitely retains the best tube gain out of all the pedals I've tried. Jhs makes some fantastic gear, you can't go wrong with this one if you're looking for a solid dirt pedal.

As a seasoned rock lead guitarist, I like high-gain tone, but can't always play at high volume. Enter the JHS Angry Charlie. I've played this pedal through Vox, Fender, and Peavey amps, and no matter what, I still get that searing Marshall tone I love - even at low volumes! It offers just enough control to make me happy, without bogging me down with a a ton of knobs. This pedal has found a permanent spot on my board.
