Nothing Sounds Better Than A New Set Of Strings!

Elixir Strings with the Polyweb coating have the warm tone and smooth action of non-coated strings, yet they feel like softer to the touch. The ultra-thin Polyweb coating keeps these strings sounding fresh and new for a lot longer than conventional strings. The Polyweb coating cuts down on finger squeak while reducing the bite of the strings on your fingers. They have a mellow and warm tone, and maintain their original sound and feel longer than most strings.

Elixir's 80/20 Bronze strings present a smoother, mellower tone than Phosphor Bronze acoustic strings. They tend to assume a warmer glowing tone, and the Polyweb coating further subdues their high end, resulting in a rich, full-bodied tone.

80/20 Bronze 12-56 Poly or 12-53 Phosphor Nano

On Taylor Koa 224 like the deeper bass and more mid of these 12-56 vs the standard 12-53 nano.

Both strings are great but like the extra punch from these strings

tinny tone remedy

I think all elixir strings are awesome in terms of playability and especially longevity, but there is a big difference in tone between nonoweb and polyweb. I've used polys on all my acoustic guitars for years. They definitely mellow out "tinny" sounding guitars and give them a much fuller sound. However, on an already full voiced mellow toned guitar like my gs mini mahogany, the polys are too dark in tone. The nanos phosphor bronze bring out everything that particular guitar is meant to be. So, the polywebs are great on the right guitar, especially if you want to tone it down a bit. Hope my experience is helpful!

Very Good Product

Since my first pack of Elixir not long after they were invented I've used no other. For years I had to change out other brands after just four hours of use (one gig) due to I guess me having high acidity that simply crusted over the strings with corrosion. Not Elixir. They also can be cleaned up a bit after months of use and return the ring. I've tried other brands of coated strings but they just don't seem to have the sound and lasting power of Elixirs.
