Ideal Monitoring for Your Modeling Rig

The Friedman ASC-10 modeler/profiler monitor delivers the "truest" sound out of your amplifier modelers while maintaining the dynamic feel of a real amplifier pushing real air. This rugged 500-watt monitor looks just like a traditional speaker cabinet, but it's designed for sonic transparency. Inside, you'll find a 10" Celestion speaker and 1.75" HF driver paired with a 500-watt, Bi-amp design that ensures your full tone shows through. Play through the Friedman ASC-10, and experience a new level of authenticity from your modeling devices.

Class G amplifier that's anything but digital

At the heart of the ASC-10 is an analog 500-watt bi-amp Class G power amplifier. This amp design, proprietary to Friedman Amplification, delivers rich, full tone and a wide frequency response. This allows the ASC-10 to not only be used as a guitar stage monitor, but it's also suited for backline, or even as your main PA speaker — it even includes a pole-mounting cup for such applications. And the 500-watt power rating should be enough for almost any situation where you need it to be heard.

Traditional cabinet shape for onstage convenience

Though the ASC-10 can be used in a myriad of ways, its traditional cabinet shape makes it as easy to integrate into your rig as any other amplifier. Place your amp modeler or profiler on top, and it basically looks like any other modeling rig. And its ability to switch between guitar and PA duties makes the ASC-10 one of the most flexible stage solutions we've seen at Sweetwater.

Friedman quality

The name Friedman Amplification is synonymous with high-quality electric guitar products. Dave Friedman has been building and modding gear for some of the most respected names in electric guitar for years. Seeing a trend toward using direct modeled signals onstage, Mr. Friedman answered the call with the ASC-10 active amplifier modeler/profiler monitor. You can have all the attention to detail, amazingly accurate tone, and premium components that Friedman is known for in an onstage amp for your modeling-based rig.

Love it

I bought this to use with my Fractal products (FM9 and Axe Fx 3) and Line 6 HX Stomp. Very happy with the sound. In fact, within a week after getting this I located a second one so now I have two! So far, this is the best sounding speaker I've used with my amp modelers. Has a great punch to it and the feel of a tube amp in my opinion. Extremely happy I pulled the trigger to make this purchase. Prior to this purchase I mainly ran my amp modelers through a mesa 2x12 cab with a solid state power amp (Seymour Duncan) and nice QSC PA speakers… while I like the sounds out of all of them and still use them all, I definitely like the Friedmans the best and would pick those if I could only have one speaker.

Sounds Great…

…but there is a bit of an eq curve to it. it sounds great though. My main issue with this unit is that it's definitely not 34lbs… more like 44lbs. So that was a bit of a bummer. Just be warned for anyone looking for something really lightweight. You will be in for a surprise. I'm gonna keep it cause it sounds great and looks like a guitar cab on stage.

Incredible sound and Dynamics

I play this through a Revv D20 and it gives me no reservations about switching cabinets to something else. It gives you full satisfaction that you made the best purchase possible. I've owned multiple QSC K series through Kempers and could not come close to the sonic quality the Friedman adds. I am 100% satisfied. Thank you Sam for the recommendation.

Exactly what I was looking for!

I love this monitor! Coming from the amp world, I got a Fractal FM3 and tried it through my studio monitors and p.a. Through my studio monitors, it sounds just like what I hear on my recordings but I never get the "punch in your gut" feel that I got from my regular amp cabs. Then I tried it through my p.a. and pretty much had the same experience. After a while, I noticed that I got some ear fatigue.

When I saw that Friedman made this monitor, I knew I had to give it a try although I was a little hesitant based on some reviews from other sites. The monitor is a bit bass-heavy while on the floor but I've found that when I elevate the cab, it sounds perfect! I got the feel that I missed from playing real amps and I could play for hours without getting ear fatigue. The FM3 and this monitor make a great combination as it sounds really good from very quiet to gig levels. I forget that I'm not playing through a traditional amp.

Thank you Friedman for making the missing link for modelers and thanks Sweetwater for getting it to me so fast!

ASC-10

I am completely blown away by this cab. I really feel like it was the icing on the cake, paired with my fractal AX8. I was using the ASM-12, and couldn"t quite get things dialed in like I wanted, and HATED moving it. I used a QSC 10 before that, and a QSC-12, before that, and never got what I was looking for. From the moment I plugged into the ASC-10, my sound was complete, and exactly what I needed and wanted. It"s super easy to transport and doesn"t have the ridiculous issues to move around that the ASM monitors do. They also put a nicer texture to the exterior of these amps than they did on the 12"s. And they aren"t greased and lubed up with butter or armor-all, or some such greasy nonsense, like they did with the larger ones. The low cut switch seems to be more effective on this amp (maybe it"s in my head), and it seems like it has a lower noise floor. It might not get as loud as the larger one but it is more than enough volume for anything I am going to do with it. I do wish they kept the xlr output instead of adding the TRS input. All in all, I really couldn"t be happier with this amp and would recommend it to anyone and everyone. It is super attractive, light weight, sounds incredible, and has plenty of volume.
