A must have

In today's world of connected devices and app driven electronics Bluetooth/WiFi functionality should be built-in. One star deduct for Tascam making this an upsell over priced add-on. I use mine in the Portacapture X8, which has an awesome and necessary app but needs the AK-BT1 to work. I can't comment on how this works on other devices but personally i think it sticks out too much and is a little loose on the X8. I worry about the risk of it getting knocked out or falling out while on location recording-- gotta get out the gaffer tape. Overall it works well and connects every time no fuss. Oh, and Sweetwater is hands down the best place to shop, excellent customer care. Peace!

TASCAM T Adapter

Love my PortacaptureX8 but handling noise can be a problem. The BT Adapter and software let's me mount the recorder and control all the software without touching the machine.

Other reviews complained that the Adapter could fall out I never experienced it doing so, but a touch of low temp hot glue is my just-in-case precaution,

The AK-BK1 turns the Portacapture into a much more versatile devi.

Works Great with Airglu Timecode on Portacapture X8

I have been using this to transmit Timecode from the Atomos Ultra Sync Blue over to the Tascam Portacapture X8! It works great. It also works great to control the X8 from your phone although I do not use it for that function.

It works!

Does what it's supposed to do. I like that it has a blue LED to indicate whether or not it's connected or searching. You can also turn the module off via the user interface to save battery.
