So Much Sequencing Power!
Doepfer offers an absolutely staggering amount of Eurorack sequencing power for the money with their A-157 Trigger Sequencer Subsystem. Go ahead, load up your rig with percussion modules, triggered envelopes, and other trigger-/gate-driven modules. With an 8-channel A-157 Trigger Sequencer Subsystem in your rack, you have more than enough triggers to go around. Mute, swap, and even invert rows, and set up insane sequences up to 64-steps long! There are plenty of reasons Eurorack synth nuts at Sweetwater have started loading up their own racks with Doepfer modules, and the A-157 is one of them.

Three modules in one sequencing subsystem
These days, the A-157 Trigger Sequencer comes as a complete sequencing subsystem, packing three premium Doepfer modules into one package. The inclusion of these breakout boxes is a huge bonus since they effectively turn the main A-157-1 module into a trimmed-down version of the highly popular (and no longer available) Schaltwerk sequencer. All you need is 52HP of space in your rack, and you're ready to add some seriously powerful sequencing to your setup.
Fast, powerful, and easy to use sequencing
The A-157-1 Trigger Sequencer is amazingly straightforward and totally intuitive, thanks to its dedicated step buttons and LED feedback. That means you can create a full eight 16-step sequences in a matter of seconds. It's just what you need if you want to build patterns on the fly for live performance. The included A-157-2 and A-157-3 breakout panels make connecting the rest of your system a piece of cake too. There are individual 3.5mm outputs for each channel, complete with LEDs that reflect sequenced notes, plus a full set of control inputs with start, stop, reset, clock, and more.
Layers of control possibilities onboard
Note: the v1 firmware doesn't yet incorporate all the features listed on the chassis.
The flexibility of the A-157 Trigger Sequencer Subsystem is still remarkable enough that the synth nuts here at Sweetwater are impressed, and there's a ton you can do beyond the basic capabilities of an 8 x 16 sequencer. For starters, you can chain patterns to get 32- or even 64-step sequences. Then there's the ability to edit sequences as they run, while batch functions such as shift left and right and invert selected rows let you make huge changes quickly. The A-157 Trigger Sequencer Subsystem's additional play modes include forward, backward, pendulum, and random, for all kinds of fun variations.
