To ensure that you receive the finest instrument possible, Alhambra enlists its finest woodworkers in the 8 P’s construction from start to finish. In fact, only a small group of the most elite Artisans in their 100-worker shop are authorized to work on these instruments. These craftspeople lavish their decades of experience on hand-voiced bracing, the intricate wooden rosette, and the exceptionally dressed frets. What’s more, this guitar features a traditional Spanish heel for unrestricted resonance and sustain.
Spanish heel neck increases stability and resonance
Discerning classical players know that a guitar’s neck joint has a broad impact on the final sound and performance of the instrument. Sweetwater is proud to report that the Alhambra 8 P features a cedar neck with a traditional Spanish heel neck without a joint. The Spanish heel is a construction method in which the neck extends into the body and is glued to the top and back. Aside from eliminating a tone-sucking glue or bolt-on joint, the Spanish heel design transfers vibrations from the neck to the top and back of the guitar, allowing for unrestricted resonance and sustain. And as a bonus, this neck also has ebony reinforcement for even greater stability over time.
