Taylor’s Captivating Koa Creation

Taylor’s acclaimed 700 series combines exceptional USA build quality with an artisan touch of exceptional craftsmanship. The 724ce is versatile modern workhorse with looks worth showing off as a display piece. Full koa top, back, and sides deliver balanced frequency that’s paired perfectly with a Grand Auditorium acoustic body shape. One of Taylor’s flagship designs, the Grand Auditorium is a balanced and tapered body with enough clarity for fingerpicking yet ample body for strumming chords. Plus, this fresh Taylor’s revolutionary V-Class bracing inside the guitar yields spot-on intonation, greater resonance, and longer sustain. Players on the hunt for an all-purpose machine should look no further than the Taylor 724ce from Sweetwater!

Balanced Grand Auditorium design

The Grand Auditorium player-friendly design is built for professionals who want to hop from style to style quickly without switching guitars! One of Taylor’s iconic guitar shapes, the Grand Auditorium’s comfortable low profile sonically outsized by its strong voice and projection. Since it's balanced across lows, mids, and highs, players who favor transparent-sounding guitars will love the 724ce’s warm and crisp fingerpicking response that darkens up when flatpicking or strumming with force. What’s more, for better access to upper frets, the 724ce also features Taylor’s signature Venetian cutaway.

Curated koa and other tonewoods

The finest koa tonewood grows only on the Hawaiian Islands among the extremes of tropical weather and rugged volcanic mountainsides. In Hawaiian, koa means “bold,” which describes both its stunning wood grain and unique acoustic tone. The 724ce features a natural koa top, koa back and sides, and a mahogany neck with a matte finish and an ebony fingerboard accented with maple and rosewood purfling. It’s an incredibly articulate guitar with a trebly snap, haunting midrange, and warm low end. Plus, like any koa guitar, the 724ce’s low end warms and opens the more it’s played over time. The result is a guitar that matures and ages like a fine wine.

V-Class bracing: a sonic innovation

Bracing supports each and every acoustic guitar’s interior, and, though it's almost invisible, bracing shapes guitar acoustics in a big way! X-shape bracing was standard on acoustics for over a century, but Taylor’s revolutionary V-bracing teases more volume and sustain out of a guitar’s sound chamber, even a slim-waisted guitar like the 724ce. V-bracing allows wooden acoustic tops to vibrate with more richness, projection, and sustain with more space inside the sound chamber for note maturation. This groundbreaking innovation also improves intonation and rounds out the hi-fi sound of top-of-the-line Taylor guitars like the 724ce.

Cutting-edge Taylor Expression System 2 electronics

Amplified players are going to love the Taylor Expression System 2 electronics built into the 724ce! The ES2 system features a revolutionary segmented pickup located behind the bridge saddle; this pickup position delivers remarkably accurate and clear sound production that’s authentic to your playing. Each ES2 system features a handy master volume knob for fast level adjustments, in addition to a 2-band EQ for independent treble/bass adjustments to get the sound you need. Plus, the ES2 system also has a built-in phase switch, which offers essential feedback suppression whenever the system is active.

Taylor 724ce Acoustic-electric Guitar Features:

  • Comfortable Grand Auditorium body shape with Venetian cutaway
  • Taylor ES2 electronics with 2-band EQ
  • Hawaiian koa top, back, and sides with balanced tonal response
  • Mahogany neck with ebony fingerboard and 20 frets
  • Ebony headstock with fountain inlay
  • V-Class bracing
  • Rosewood/maple purfling
  • Premium hardware: ebony bridge pins, Taylor tuning machines, and a micarta bridge
  • Proudly made in the USA

Why Buy Your Guitar from Sweetwater?

See how Sweetwater goes to great lengths to give you the very best online guitar buying experience. From our online Guitar Gallery that allows you to see and select the exact instrument you want to our 55-point Inspection process and our in-house guitar techs, we take the guesswork out of buying your next guitar online.

What is Demo Gear?

At Sweetwater, we're so picky that what we call a "demo" is actually better than what most music retailers sell as "new" gear! Our gear hasn't endured hundreds of people a week plunking away at all the keyboards, fumbling through Stairway to Heaven on every guitar or playing with every fader and knob on a mixer or control surface.

What demo means to us is that we've had it out of the box, or maybe it was in a customer's hands for a few days and isn't "factory fresh" as a result. Every demo item we sell has Sweetwater's 2-year Total Confidence Coverage™ warranty, and has been tested and verified up to "new" specs by our factory-authorized technicians to make sure it's in perfect working order before we ship it to you.

When you buy a Demo item at Sweetwater, you get:
  • 2-year Total Confidence Coverage Warranty™!
  • Products inspected and tested by our factory-authorized techs, guaranteed to function like new (or better)!
  • FREE shipping on most items
  • Equipment that will MEET or EXCEED your expectations!

Playability and sound is amazing

I have always wanted a KOA Taylor and after receiving it I couldn't be happier. The action on this guitar is truly unlike any other. It almost feels like playing an electric but it's an acoustic. The notes on the fretboard sound amazing and hammer ons/pull offs are effortless.

The tone is truly great! It has a nice warm tone with good mid range. When the guitar is plugged into an amp it sounds even better. I own several acoustics and this is by far the best sounding and playing guitar I have ever owned. There is a reason Taylor puts out high end acoustics and I am extremely satisfied to be a first time Taylor owner.
Music background: I have been playing guitar for 24 years.

Lovely KOA

When I saw that Taylor had changed their 700 series to offer an all KOA 724ce, I was hooked. After a few months of research and waiting for the right one to arrive at Sweetwater, Nate was again ON IT and the love affair began between this beautiful guitar and myself. When I opened the case, I was just amazed at the look of the KOA wood. The sound was even more unbelievable. Thank you Nate and Sweetwater for coming thru yet again on Customer Service, Availability, timely shipping and proper packing. I will always buy my new guitars from Sweetwater!!

"The One"

Most expensive guitar I have ever purchased, and over the years I have bought a lot. You name it including Taylor and Martins. This guitar is stunning, beautiful all around. The tone and different voicing is exactly whatI was after, can be subtle and refined, and can be loud and bright. Zero regrets, would do it all over again..

And a shout out to my SW Engineer Conner Smith, 1000% customer service! '

Cheers

Taylor 724CE Koa - LEGIT, Life-changing, Spectacular

When I looked at investing in a guitar I was taken aback by the Koa wood. Aesthetics did have a lot to do with it (initially) but once I played the 224ce-k I couldn't believe how great it sounded. I knew I could push that further with an all wood instrument but for Koa the next up in the Taylor line was the K-Series. Well, fast-forward 6 months and Taylor dropped the 724ce. I listed 2 other guitars immediately to cover the costs, watched the few YouTube videos available, and pulled the trigger blind (ordered online). All I can say is WOW. This guitar eliminates any "compression" of the sound that I regularly read about the 224CE. I don't know if that is a function of the layered wood or the finish. I didn't hear it until I played the 224 and 724 side by side, but with my exact same skills I sound better, feel better, and am in love. In addition, the string spacing is slightly greater allowing my fat fingers to work better up and down the fret board. This is a beautiful instrument and even after 8 days I will never let this one go. It does have the Taylor "brightness" (which I wanted) and can feel the vibration from this guitar flow through my body and activate my chakras haha. It is legit transcendental! If you end up buying just remember to CALL Sweetwater
