The DPA 6066 CORE subminiature microphone packs the incredible sound of DPA's award-winning 4060 series into a 3mm mic — 60% smaller than its predecessor! Ideal for very loud sources, the 6066 boasts a super-low noise floor and rock-solid SPL handling. The 6066 features a stainless steel housing with a Physical Vapor Deposition (PVD) coating that's resistant to high temperatures, impacts, and abrasions. Beyond that, it's water resistant, hermetically sealed, and employs a dual gold-plated diaphragm. The 6066 CORE subminiature microphone is a great choice if you need a near-invisible headset mic that's tailor-made for field work.

Subminiature CORE technology
DPA's CORE technology delivers comparable performance to its 5mm mics in a 3mm design. And they sound great — at Sweetwater, we've found that these mics deliver top-shelf results with minimal distortion and amazing clarity and openness. The 6066 CORE exhibits a 102dB dynamic range, a 26dB noise floor, and yields a maximum SPL of 144dB. You'll be hard-pressed to find many mics of this size that sound this good.

Rugged microphone design
Headset mics take a beating out in the field, and DPA took this into account when it designed the 6066 CORE. It's built from stainless steel and treated with a PVD coating for increased durability. It's also IP58 certified, boasting a water-repellent nano-coating, hermetically sealed amplifier, and dual gold-plated diaphragm. That said, there's nothing utilitarian about the 6066 CORE's attractive matte coating — the 6066 is a stunning, albeit unobtrusive, piece of tech.
