The 5150 Standard is built around a modified Strat-style body carved from a solid slab of basswood. Its quarter-sawn maple Speed neck sports a comfortable modified "C" back shape, and its lightning-fast, compound-radius fingerboard is crowned by 22 jumbo frets. Plug into a high-gain amplifier, and the 5150 Standard's direct-mount EVH Wolfgang humbuckers positively erupt with tone, yielding chunky rhythms and articulate leads with enough punch and sustain to fill a stadium. You also get an EVH-branded Floyd Rose tremolo, enabling you to unleash shameless pitch pyrotechnics with rock-solid tuning stability, along with a D-Tuna for effortless access to Drop D. A low-friction volume pot, high-friction tone pot, and a lower-bout kill switch round out the 5150 Standard's upper-level appointments. Technical-minded players hunting for a throwback electric guitar with modern features will be on top of the world with the EVH 5150 Standard.

Built for speed

If you're playing incorporates plenty of rock pyrotechnics, the 5150 Standard was built with you in mind. This solidbody electric guitar's modified Strat-style basswood body offers a deeper upper-bout curve for added comfort. Its bolt-on maple Speed neck features a modified "C" back shape, a hand-rubbed satin urethane back finish, and a convenient heel-mount truss rod adjustment wheel. Moreover, the neck is quarter-sawn and graphite-reinforced for added stability. The 5150 Standard's compound-radius fingerboard boasts a hand-rubbed oil finish and 22 jumbo frets for the utmost in lightning-fast playability. This exquisite instrument is topped off with a hockey stick headstock adorned by an eye-catching "EVH" logo.

Punchy, articulate tones with loads of sweet sustain

The custom-designed, Alnico II-loaded EVH Wolfgang humbuckers in the 5150 Standard put the ultimate hard rock tone you hear in your head squarely in your hands. The bridge pickup churns out punchy, articulate leads with near-endless sustain, along with chunky rhythms that inject muscle into every riff you play. The neck pickup is equally as tasty, serving up everything from no-nonsense drive to character-filled cleans when you roll back your volume knob. The EVH 5150 Standard includes a low-friction volume pot for effortless "Cathedral"-esque swells, along with a high-friction tone pot to safeguard against accidental bumps. The guitarists here at Sweetwater dig this electric guitar's lower-bout kill switch, making rhythmic stutter-style effects a total piece of cake.

Journey to dive-bomb heaven

Everyone knows you can't go full-blown EVH without a rock-solid tremolo. That's why the 5150 Standard includes a top-mount EVH-branded Floyd Rose tremolo. Thanks to this double-locking trem, you can dive-bomb, shriek, squeak, and otherwise abuse your whammy bar without sacrificing tuning stability. The 5150 Standard also features EVH's patented D-Tuna, enabling you to switch back and forth from Drop D to standard tuning in an instant.

Real review of the left handed version.

I've owned it roughly2 weeks, in that time I have played it pretty heavily and have a few points to put. The finish. It's a matte finish much like the stealth Wolfgang's.. it has gotten shiny in places already but it's more of a breaking in so to speak. Adds character. Body is very comfortable and it's lighter in weight than expected and for bigger guys like myself it's not of a small size. The Floyd rose works like it should. It's not a cheap Floyd either. Pickups are Wolfgang's and they sound like you would expect. Articulate and clear. There is just something special about those pickups. Clean channel they are so clear and with some dirt they really pop. The kill switch will become your friend very quickly, not only for its function but you can get really creative with it. I saved the neck for the last part. I have pretty good size hands. 2 xl work gloves I've played Wolfgang's Ibanez Alvarez music mans and the neck on this stealth is the most comfortable neck to my hands. There is zero string roll off on the sides. The width is just right vs other necks being just a hair too skinny. It's a modified c shape. So think c shaped but width evenly applied in all the right places. Strat essence with modern feel. Set up properly no fret buzz. The neck right out of the box felt broke in and familiar like I had it for years. The frets I was told by fender are stainless steel however Other sites don't give the information other than 22 jumbo frets. It checks all the boxes and this is built for some serious enjoyment.
