Transparent sound, generous headroom
The 4466 CORE offers clean and transparent sound quality with copious headroom. Employing a pre-polarized, first-order pressure gradient transducer hidden in a small, lightweight housing, this headset mic is specially designed for maximum performance and comfort under the often-difficult conditions encountered when mounted directly on the human body. Its sensitivity is 6mV/Pa to match the level of the human voice to the general input sensitivity of most wireless transmitters, saving sound crews of all kinds time, effort, and money. DPA microphones are renowned for their ability to withstand high sound pressure levels without distortion, and the newly updated CORE mics minimize distortion even more by handling sound pressure levels up to 144dB SPL before clipping occurs. Comfortable and humidity resistant
With the 4466 CORE, DPA paid particular attention to humidity issues that often occur in theatrical applications and to the lightweight construction of the headband itself. A double-vent protection system and a drop stopper on the tube, together with water-resistant materials inside the microphone, make it more than difficult for the humidity to cause the microphone to fail. The headband surface is significantly more stable that the 40-series mics, with additional adjustment points to configure the perfect fit. From an aesthetic perspective, the 4466 CORE's PVD coating is less reflective than the previous painted models, making for a much better on-camera appearance. And as is standard in DPA headset mics, the earhooks are encased in a silicon hose for maximum comfort.
