Martin shoots, THEY SCORE

I've been using MA530's for a very long time. I thought I'd try a set of these and see how they sounded and am very happy to say they do sound as good as my fav's. I've only had them on for a week on my D28e, which I bought around 2008, so I'm not sure how they'll sound as they age. My luthier 'Willy' recommended them and says they last a loooooong time, so we'll see. I've been playing since 1967, and this is about as good as it gets.

Martin strings are my final choice

I've played guitar as a hobby off and on since the early 80's. I've tried lots of different strings. Cheap ones, expensive ones, treated, non-treated, etc. My final choice is Martin treated Lifespan extra-light (or light). In the past 3 years I've used other strings on an acoustic Ibanez and Ovation guitar.

While almost all strings sound good when new, I've found the Martin's I've used to sound great and sound great longer than the others. So, while I'm sure other strings will fit another guitarist's desires, my choice is the Martin Lifespan strings. I like the extra-light (or light) better so I can bend them if I want. I don't bend strings often but when I do I like the lighter gauges on acoustics.

Great tone

I"ve been playing for around 45 years. Most of the time I play at home or church. For the past several years my acoustics were strung with Elixirs. I"m happy that I tried these strings. The first 15 minutes of play felt stiff, and then it relaxed to a normal tension. The tone is so much better/deeper on the bass side. I"ve only put them on my Gibson Songwriter (non-cut) guitar, but the difference is very noticeable. My next step is to replace the saddle and bridge pins with bone(off point)sorry. These are my new string choice.
